A remark on generalized complete intersections

open access: yesNuclear Physics B, 2017
We observe that an interesting method to produce non-complete intersection subvarieties, the generalized complete intersections from L. Anderson and coworkers, can be understood and made explicit by using standard Cech cohomology machinery.

SET-THEORETIC COMPLETE INTERSECTIONS ON BINOMIALS, THE SIMPLICIAL TORIC CASE

open access: yesPesquimat, 2014
Let V be a simplicial toric variety of codimension r over a field of any characteristic. We completely characterize the implicial toric varieties that are set-theoretic complete intersections on binomials. In particular we prove that: 1.

On cohomologically complete intersection modules [PDF]

open access: yesHiroshima Mathematical Journal, 2021
Let \(I\) denote an ideal of a local ring \((R,\mathfrak{m})\). A finitely generated \(R\)-module \(M\) is called cohomologically complete intersection with respect to \(I\) if \(H^i_I(M)\) vanishes for all \(i \not= \operatorname{grade} (I,M)\), where \(H^i_I(M)\) denotes the \(i\)-th local cohomology module of \(M\) with respect to \(I\). This is the

Noncommutative complete intersections

open access: yesJournal of Algebra, 2015
Several generalizations of a commutative ring that is a graded complete intersection are proposed for a noncommutative graded $k$-algebra; these notions are justified by examples from noncommutative invariant theory.

Hermitian codes and complete intersections [PDF]

open access: yesFinite Fields and Their Applications, 2020
In this paper we present a geometrical characterization for the minimum-weight codewords of the Hermitian codes over the fields $\mathbb{F}_{q^2}$ in the third and fourth phase, namely with distance $d \geq q^2-q$. We consider the unique writing $μq + λ(q+1)$ of the distance $d$ with $μ, λ$ non negative integers, and $μ\leq q$, and prove that the ...

Intersection Safety using Lidar and Stereo Vision sensors [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
International audienceIn this paper, we describe our approach for intersection safety developed in the scope of the European project INTERSAFE-2. A complete solution for the safety problem including the tasks of perception and risk assessment using on ...

Complete Call-by-Value Calculi of Control Operators II: Strong Termination [PDF]

open access: yesLogical Methods in Computer Science, 2021
We provide characterization of the strong termination property of the CCV (complete call-by-value) lambda-mu calculus introduced in the first part of this series of the paper.

Topological invariants of isolated complete intersection curve singularities [PDF]

open access: yes, 1998
summary:In this paper we present some formulae for topological invariants of projective complete intersection curves with isolated singularities in terms of the Milnor number, the Euler characteristic and the topological genus.

Choice of the control variables of an isolated intersection by graph colouring [PDF]

open access: yesYugoslav Journal of Operations Research, 2015
This paper deals with the problem of grouping the traffic streams into some groups - signal groups on a signalized intersection. The fact that more traffic streams, which are not in a conflict, can be controlled by one sequence of traffic lights

Complete intersections in P^2 through separating sequences

open access: yesAtti della Accademia Peloritana dei Pericolanti : Classe di Scienze Fisiche, Matematiche e Naturali, 2007
In this paper we characterize the finite sets of points in P2, arising as a complete intersection of two curves, by means of their realizable sequences. Actually, we show that a reduced 0-dimensional scheme in P2 is a complete intersection of type (a, b)
