Microstructural Evolution and Vacancy Defect Formation in Mn–Mo–Ni RPV Steel Under Low Cycle Fatigue: Insights From EBSD and PALS

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Low‐cycle fatigue damage in Mn–Mo–Ni reactor pressure vessel steel is examined using a combined electron backscatter diffraction and positron annihilation lifetime spectroscopy approach. The study correlates texture evolution, dislocation substructure development, and vacancy‐type defect formation across uniform, necked, and fracture regions, providing

Almost complete intersections

open access: yesJournal of Algebra, 2008
Let \(R\) be a polynomial ring in \(n\) variables over a field \(k\) with standard grading and let \(I\subseteq R\) be a homogeneous ideal of codimension \(h\). Consider the graded minimal free \(R\)-resolution of \(R/I\): \[ 0\to \bigoplus R(-j)^{\beta_{p,j}}\to \dots \to \bigoplus R(-j)^{\beta_{1,j}}\to R\to R/I\to 0.

Phase Field Failure Modeling: Brittle‐Ductile Dual‐Phase Microstructures under Compressive Loading

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The approach by Amor and the approach by Miehe and Zhang for asymmetric damage behavior in the phase field method for fracture are compared regarding their fitness for microcrack‐based failure modeling. The comparison is performed for the case of a dual‐phase microstructure with a brittle and a ductile constituent.

Bias‐Free Highly Efficient and Stable Dye‐Sensitized Photoelectrochemical Cells via Cascade Charge Transfer

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A buried‐junction DSPEC design is introduced that leverages cascade charge transfer to enhance efficiency, stability, and versatility. This approach facilitates effective charge transfer and minimizes recombination losses, leading to significant improvements.

A new construction of Calabi–Yau manifolds: Generalized CICYs

open access: yesNuclear Physics B, 2016
We present a generalization of the complete intersection in products of projective space (CICY) construction of Calabi–Yau manifolds. CICY three-folds and four-folds have been studied extensively in the physics literature.

On complete intersections

open access: yesAnnales de l'Institut Fourier, 2001
We construct closed complex submanifolds of ℂ n which are differential but not holomorphic complete intersections. We also prove a homotopy principle concerning the removal of intersections with certain complex subvarieties of ℂ n .

3D (Bio) Printing Combined Fiber Fabrication Methods for Tissue Engineering Applications: Possibilities and Limitations

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Biofabrication aims at providing innovative technologies and tools for the fabrication of tissue‐like constructs for tissue engineering and regenerative medicine applications. By integrating multiple biofabrication technologies, such as 3D (bio) printing with fiber fabrication methods, it would be more realistic to reconstruct native tissue's ...
