Nonlinear Contractions in 0-Complete Partial Metric Spaces

open access: yesAbstract and Applied Analysis, 2012
Using the setting of 0-complete partial metric spaces, some common fixed point results of maps that satisfy the nonlinear contractive conditions are obtained.

Common Best Proximity Point Theorems in Neutrosophic Complete Metric Spaces [PDF]

open access: yesNeutrosophic Sets and Systems
In this work, we provide the existence of common best proximity point for a given pair of non-self mappings in non-Archimedean neutrosophic complete metric spaces.

Nuclear pore links Fob1‐dependent rDNA damage relocation to lifespan control

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Damaged rDNA accumulates at a specific perinuclear interface that couples nucleolar escape with nuclear envelope association. Nuclear pores at this site help inhibit Fob1‐induced rDNA instability. This spatial organization of damage handling supports a functional link between nuclear architecture, rDNA stability, and replicative lifespan in yeast.

Generalized multivalued $F$-weak contractions on complete metric spaces [PDF]

open access: yesSahand Communications in Mathematical Analysis, 2015
In this paper,  we introduce the notion of  generalized multivalued  $F$- weak contraction and we prove some fixed point theorems related to introduced  contraction for multivalued mapping in complete metric spaces.

Promiscuous stimulation of HSP70 ATPase activity by parasite‐derived J‐domains

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The malaria parasite Plasmodium falciparum exports three highly homologous yet functionally divergent J‐domain proteins into human erythrocytes. Here, we show that J‐domains isolated from all three proteins effectively stimulate the ATPase activity of both endogenous host and exported parasite HSP70 chaperones.

Chameleon sequences reveal structural effects in proteins representing micelle‐like distribution of hydrophobicity

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Amino acids sequence of two different proteins with the same sequence (chameleon sequence—black boxes) represent in 3D structure of the proteins different secondary structures: HHHH—helical and BBB—Beta‐structural. The chains folded in water environment adopt different III‐order structures in which the chameleon fragments appear to adopt similar status

Completion Of Cone Metric Spaces

open access: yes, 2009
In this paper a completion theorem for cone metric spaces and a completion theorem for cone normed spaces are proved. The completion spaces are defined by means of an equivalence relation obtained by convergence via the scalar norm of the Banach space E.

Complete metric spaces with property (Z) are length metric spaces

open access: yes, 2018
We prove that every complete metric space with property (Z) is a length space. These answers questions posed by Garc a-Lirola, Proch zka and Rueda Zoca, and by Becerra Guerrero, L pez-P rez and Rueda Zoca, related to the structure of Lipschitz-free Banach spaces of metric spaces.

Exon 7 splicing of ERα predicts poor prognosis and increases phenotypic heterogeneity in luminal a subtype breast cancer

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
ERα splice variant ERα∆7 lacks the C‐terminus, and its expression may change phenotypes of breast cancers. Our results showed that ERα∆7 is found in the luminal A subtype, and elevated ERα∆7 levels are linked to improved cell survival with lower proliferation and migration.

From Caristi’s Theorem to Ekeland’s Variational Principle in 0σ-Complete Metric-Like Spaces

open access: yesAbstract and Applied Analysis, 2014
We discuss the extension of some fundamental results in nonlinear analysis to the setting of 0σ-complete metric-like spaces. Then, we show that these extensions can be obtained via the corresponding results in standard metric spaces.
