The Heterogeneous Dynamics of Economic Complexity [PDF]
What will be the growth of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) or the competitiveness of China, United States, and Vietnam in the next 3, 5 or 10 years? Despite this kind of questions has a large societal impact and an extreme value for economic policy making, providing a scientific basis for economic predictability is still a very challenging problem ...

The complex dynamics of collaborative tagging [PDF]
The debate within the Web community over the optimal means by which to organize information often pits formalized classifications against distributed collaborative tagging systems. A number of questions remain unanswered, however, regarding the nature of collaborative tagging systems including whether coherent categorization schemes can emerge from ...

Spatially embedded dynamics and complexity [PDF]
To gain a deeper understanding of the impact of spatial embedding on the dynamics of complex systems we employ a measure of interaction complexity developed within neuroscience using the tools of statistical information theory. We apply this measure to a

Frontiers in complex dynamics [PDF]
Rational maps on the Riemann sphere occupy a distinguished niche in the general theory of smooth dynamical systems. First, rational maps are complex-analytic, so a broad spectrum of techniques can contribute to their study (quasiconformal mappings, potential theory, algebraic geometry, etc.).

Entanglement Dynamics and Classical Complexity
We study the dynamical generation of entanglement for a two-body interacting system, starting from a separable coherent state. We show analytically that in the quasiclassical regime the entanglement growth rate can be simply computed by means of the underlying classical dynamics.

ABSTRACT Background Adolescents with haematological malignancies face significant emotional and relational challenges, often accompanied by difficulties in communicating their needs within the healthcare context. To address these issues, a narrative‐based psycho‐educational intervention based on the creation and prescription of Ironic Medications was ...

The use of system dynamics group model building for analysing event causality within the nuclear industry [PDF]
Currently the most frequently used tools for investigating and learning from industrial accidents are based on linear, reductionist models of event causality.
