Isoresonant complex-valued potentials and symmetries [PDF]
Let $X$ be a connected Riemannian manifold such that the resolvent of the free Laplacian $(\Delta-z)^{-1}, z\in\C\setminus\R^{+},$ has a meromorphic continuation through $\R^{+}$. The poles of this continuation are called resonances.

Instantaneous modulations in time-varying complex optical potentials [PDF]
We study the impact of a spatially homogeneous yet non-stationary dielectric permittivity on the dynamical and spectral properties of light. Our choice of potential is motivated by the interest in ${ \mathcal P }{ \mathcal T }$ -symmetric systems as an ...

Complex Potentials and Integral Equations for Thermoelasticity Problem of Orthotropic Cracked Plate [PDF]
In the present article, the plane thermoelasticity problem of an infinite orthotropic cracked plate, is studied. The interaction between thermal and mechanical field, in a plate containing a crack and a heat source is investigated. The plate is submitted

This is the first part of a short three-paper series, aiming to revisit some classical concepts of Linear Elastic Fracture Mechanics. The motive of this first paper is to highlight some controversial issues, related to the unnatural overlapping of the ...

Quantum complex Hénon–Heiles potentials [PDF]
Quantum-mechanical PT-symmetric theories associated with complex cubic potentials such as V=x^2+y^2+igxy^2 and V=x^2+y^2+z^2+igxyz, where g is a real parameter, are investigated. These theories appear to possess real, positive spectra. Low-lying energy levels are calculated to very high order in perturbation theory.

Second-Order Multiparameter Problems Containing Complex Potentials
In this work, we provide some lower bounds for the number of squarly integrable solutions of some second-order multiparameter differential equations. To obtain the results, we use both Sims and Sleeman’s ideas and the results are some generalization of ...

Attack Potential in Impact and Complexity [PDF]
Vulnerability exploitation is reportedly one of the main attack vectors against computer systems. Yet, most vulnerabilities remain unexploited by attackers. It is therefore of central importance to identify vulnerabilities that carry a high `potential for attack'. In this paper we rely on Symantec data on real attacks detected in the wild to identify a

Electrical Potentials in Stomatal Complexes [PDF]
Guard cells of several species, but predominantly Commelina communis, were impaled by micropipette electrodes and potential differences measured that occurred between cell compartments and the flowing bathing medium. The wall developed a Donnan potential that was between -60 and -70 millivolt in 30 millimolar KCl at pH 7.

SUSY Quantum Mechanics with Complex Superpotentials and Real Energy Spectra [PDF]
We extend the standard intertwining relations used in Supersymmetrical (SUSY) Quantum Mechanics which involve real superpotentials to complex superpotentials.
