YAP9/A20 complex suppresses proinflammatory responses and provides novel anti-inflammatory therapeutic potentials

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology, 2022
Innate anti-inflammatory mechanisms are essential for immune homeostasis and can present opportunities to intervene inflammatory diseases. In this report, we found that YAP isoform 9 (YAP9) is an essential negative regulator of the potent inflammatory ...

Prolonged Corrected QT Interval as an Early Electrocardiographic Marker of Cyclophosphamide‐Induced Cardiotoxicity in Pediatric Hematology and Oncology Patients

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Cyclophosphamide (CY) is associated with potentially fatal cardiotoxicity, yet no electrocardiographic indices have been established for early detection of CY‐induced cardiomyopathy. This study aimed to determine whether corrected QT interval (QTc) prolongation can predict early onset of CY‐related cardiac dysfunction in pediatric ...

Complex Symmetric Formulation of Maxwell Equations for Fields and Potentials

open access: yesMathematics, 2018
Maxwell equations have two types of asymmetries between the electric and magnetic fields. The first asymmetry is the inhomogeneity induced by the absence of magnetic charge sources. The second asymmetry is due to parity.

Inverse Design of Simple Pair Potentials for the Self-Assembly of Complex Structures

open access: yes, 2018
The synthesis of complex materials through the self-assembly of particles at the nanoscale provides opportunities for the realization of novel material properties.

Stable surface solitons in truncated complex potentials. [PDF]

open access: yesOptics Letters, 2012
We show that surface solitons in the one-dimensional nonlinear Schrödinger equation with truncated complex periodic potential can be stabilized by linear homogeneous losses, which are necessary to balance gain in the near-surface channel arising from the

Pathogenic Germline PALB2 and RAD50 Variants in Patients With Relapsed Ewing Sarcoma

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Approximately 10% of patients with Ewing sarcoma (EwS) have pathogenic germline variants. Here, we report two cases: first, a novel germline pathogenic variant in partner and localizer of BRCA2 (PALB2) in a patient with a late EwS relapse. Its impact on homologous recombination is demonstrated, and breast cancer risk is discussed.

Complex Ga2O3 polymorphs explored by accurate and general-purpose machine-learning interatomic potentials

open access: yesnpj Computational Materials, 2023
Ga2O3 is a wide-band gap semiconductor of emergent importance for applications in electronics and optoelectronics. However, vital information of the properties of complex coexisting Ga2O3 polymorphs and low-symmetry disordered structures is missing.

Active Invisibility Cloaks in One Dimension

open access: yes, 2015
We outline a general method of constructing finite-range cloaking potentials which render a given finite-range real or complex potential $v(x)$ unidirectionally reflectionless or invisible at a wavenumber $k_0$ of our choice.

Patient‐Level Barriers and Facilitators to Inpatient Physical Therapy in Adolescents and Young Adults With a Hematological Malignancy: A Qualitative Study

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Despite their increased risk for functional impairment resulting from cancer and its treatments, few adolescents and young adults (AYAs) with a hematological malignancy receive the recommended or therapeutic dose of exercise per week during inpatient hospitalizations.

Performance of two complementary machine-learned potentials in modelling chemically complex systems

open access: yesnpj Computational Materials, 2023
Chemically complex multicomponent alloys possess exceptional properties derived from an inexhaustible compositional space. The complexity however makes interatomic potential development challenging. We explore two complementary machine-learned potentials—
