We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

Statistical ensembles without typicality
The minimal amount of assumptions to justify the use of maximum-entropy ensembles is still debated. Here, the authors show that the transitions that a partially known system environment can undergo are the same allowed for the maximum entropy state which

In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Structural and biochemical characterisations show that the planar cell polarity (PCP) protein Inturned harbours a unique PDZ‐like domain that does not bind canonical PDZ‐binding motifs (PBMs) like that of another PCP protein Vangl2. In contrast, the apical‐basal polarity protein Scribble contains four PDZ domains that bind Vangl2, but one PDZ domain ...

Measuring out quasi-local integrals of motion from entanglement
Quasi-local integrals of motion are a key concept underpinning the modern understanding of many-body localisation, a phenomenon in which interactions and disorder come together.

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Atomic mechanisms of full-length ASC-mediated inflammasome assembly
ASC (Apoptosis-associated Speck-like protein containing a CARD) is a key adaptor protein that assembles inflammasomes by linking sensors such as NLRP3 to effectors like Caspase-1 via its PYD and CARD Death Domains.

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

High power, dual SWIR-MIR OPCPA source for high-order harmonics generation
High-harmonic generation (HHG) spectroscopy enables the observation of fundamental ultrafast phenomena in nature. Recent advances in laser technology have led to the development of wavelength tunable ultrashort light sources, allowing the study of a wide
