Complexation of Stereoregular Poly(methyl methacrylates). 7. Theoretical Aspects

open access: yes, 1985
In a suitable solvent isotactic (it) and syndiotactic (st) poly(methyl methacrylates) associate into a stereocomplex with an it/st = 1/2 composition. A simple model, introduced by Khodakov et al., for the complexation of a long macromolecule (matrix) and

An unexpected alternative viologen electron mediator site in tungsten‐containing formate dehydrogenase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
An unexpected alternative interaction site for ethyl viologen was identified in formate dehydrogenase 1 from Methylorubrum extorquens. Combined mutagenesis, kinetic analysis, and docking revealed that aromatic residues near an iron–sulfur cluster enable flavin mononucleotide‐independent electron transfer, offering a framework for engineering improved ...

Humate Complexation of Neptunium(V) and its Modeling

open access: yes, 1994
The complexation behavior of Np(V) with humate was investigated by spectrophotometry in the pH range from 5.7 to 10 in 0.01–0.5M NaClO4. The absorption peaks of NpO2+and Np(V) humate were observed at 979.6nm and 989.9nm, respectively, and the apparent ...

Ubiquitination of secretory granules promotes their crinophagic degradation in Drosophila

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Ubiquitination of secretory granules in Drosophila larval salivary glands is a critical molecular trigger for crinophagy, the lysosomal degradation of unreleased, or low‐quality granules. The E3 ubiquitin ligase Cnot4 is recruited to the surface of secretory granules to induce crinophagy.

Solid-state evidence for alkali metal to arene Pi-complexation

open access: yes, 2001
We report a variety of alkali metal cation-π interactions, documented by X-ray crystallography. These include interactions with the neutral arenes benzene, phenol, and indole.

Effects of Complexation on the Glass Transition Temperature of Polymers

open access: yes, 1990
The effects of Lewis acid complexation on the glass transition temperature (Tg) of several polymers with strong intermolecular interactions was investigated. The decrease in the Tg due to GaCl3 complexation of aliphatic and aromatic polyamides was 40–600°

TRAIL‐PEG‐Apt‐PLGA nanosystem as an aptamer‐targeted drug delivery system potential for triple‐negative breast cancer therapy using in vivo mouse model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...
