Intrinsic component mode synthesis and plate vibrations

Computers & Structures, 1992
Summary: Component mode synthesis belongs to the class of Galerkin methods that enables one to compute the eigenpairs of a differential operator on a domain that can be subdivided into different subdomains on each of which the eigenpairs of the same operator are assumed to be known.

Convergence improvement for component mode synthesis

AIAA Journal, 1992
Model order reduction by component mode synthesis relies on the truncation of high-frequenc y component modes. Such truncations inevitably lead to approximate solutions for the system frequencies and mode shapes. A technique is proposed to improve the accuracy of the computed system modal content.

Complex component mode synthesis for damped systems

Journal of Sound and Vibration, 1995
Abstract A general free-interface complex component mode synthesis (CMS), which uses truncated component complex modes, complemented with residual flexibility and inertia-relief modes, has been developed and allows assembly of a damped multi-component system with rigid and/or flexible interfaces.

Forced Structural Response Using Component Mode Synthesis

SAE Technical Paper Series, 1984
<div class="htmlview paragraph">This paper discusses the effects of omitting constraint modes corresponding to applied loads in systems modeled with component mode synthesis. A method of correcting for the omitted constraint modes is also developed.

Large Protein Dynamics Described by Hierarchical-Component Mode Synthesis

Journal of Chemical Theory and Computation, 2009
Protein dynamics has played a pivotal role in understanding the biological function of protein. For investigation of such dynamics, normal-mode analysis (NMA) has been broadly employed with atomistic model and/or coarse-grained models such as elastic network model (ENM).

Component Mode Synthesis of Multi-Rotor Systems

1987
In the design of high speed multi-rotor systems it is necessary to predict and control the vibratory behavior of systems of non-uniform beamlike rotating elements interconnected by bearings and couplings. To describe the dynamic behavior of these elements it is necessary to account for flexure and shear deformation of the beams thenselves and of any ...
