Composite Z'

open access: yes, 2014
We investigate a possibility of a composite Z' vector boson. For the compositeness, the required gauge coupling g in low energy is not so big, g^2/(4\pi) > 0.015 in the case of the U(1)_{B-L} model.

COMPOSITE RESTORATIONS

open access: yesInternational Journal of Advanced Research, 2019
Improvements in tooth-coloured restoratives and bonding technology have made dental procedures more palatable and feasible. Patients are attracted to a restoration that matches the color of natural teeth. Resin composites meet this demand and have become the most frequently used esthetic material in dentistry.

Sequence determinants of RNA G‐quadruplex unfolding by Arg‐rich regions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We show that Arg‐rich peptides selectively unfold RNA G‐quadruplexes, but not RNA stem‐loops or DNA/RNA duplexes. This length‐dependent activity is inhibited by acidic residues and is conserved among SR and SR‐related proteins (SRSF1, SRSF3, SRSF9, U1‐70K, and U2AF1).

Superior ablation resistance of plasma sprayed SiC based coating by structural optimized powders

open access: yesJournal of Materials Research and Technology
Pristine SiC coating prepared by plasma spraying is difficult to achieve good ablation resistance at high temperature due to its weak SiO2 scale. Besides incorporation by ultra-high temperature ceramics, the modification of the SiC coating from its ...

Thermal Analysis of Polyamide 6 Composites Filled by Natural Fiber Blend

open access: yesBioResources, 2016
This study describes changes in the viscoelastic and thermal properties of composites made with various percentages (up to 20 wt.%) of a natural fiber blend (a mixture of flax, kenaf, and hemp fibers) and polyamide 6 (PA 6). According to the differential

Does Flower Morphology affect Honey Bee Preference? [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Considering honey bee populations are at threat of declining. Flower preference is important to understand how we can attempt to preserve their habitats.

Temperature dependence of piezoresistance of composite Fermions with a valley degree of freedom

open access: yes, 2010
We report transport measurements of composite Fermions at filling factor $\nu=3/2$ in AlAs quantum wells as a function of strain and temperature.

Structural instability impairs function of the UDP‐xylose synthase 1 Ile181Asn variant associated with short‐stature genetic syndrome in humans

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

Cell wall target fragment discovery using a low‐cost, minimal fragment library

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
LoCoFrag100 is a fragment library made up of 100 different compounds. Similarity between the fragments is minimized and 10 different fragments are mixed into a single cocktail, which is soaked to protein crystals. These crystals are analysed by X‐ray crystallography, revealing the binding modes of the bound fragment ligands.
