Numerical investigation of steel-concrete composite (SCC) beam subjected to combined blast-impact loading

open access: yesHeliyon, 2022
Existing literatures on combined effects of blast-impact loadings on steel-concrete composite beams are limited. In this study, behavior of steel-concrete composite beam subjected to combined blast-impact loading was investigated using LS-DYNA nonlinear ...

One dimensional modelling of failure in laminated plates by delamination buckling [PDF]

open access: yes, 1981
When low speed objects impact composite laminated plates delamination may result. Under inplane compression such delaminations may buckle and tend to enlarge the delaminated area which can lead to loss of global plate stability.

LDAcoop: Integrating non‐linear population dynamics into the analysis of clonogenic growth in vitro

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Limiting dilution assays (LDAs) quantify clonogenic growth by seeding serial dilutions of cells and scoring wells for colony formation. The fraction of negative wells is plotted against cells seeded and analyzed using the non‐linear modeling of LDAcoop.

Experimental Study of Ultra Shallow Floor Beams (USFB) with Perforated Steel Sections [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
: In modern building construction design, floor spans are becoming longer. Hence, steel framed structures have become more competitive when compared with traditional reinforced concrete framed buildings. In order to minimise the structural section of the

On sixfold coupled buckling of thin-walled composite beams [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
A general analytical model based on shear-deformable beam theory has been developed to study the flexural–torsional coupled buckling of thin-walled composite beams with arbitrary lay-ups under axial load.

Paneled Composite Beams (Dept.C) [PDF]

open access: yesMEJ. Mansoura Engineering Journal, 2020

Infrared laser sampling of low volumes combined with shotgun lipidomics reveals lipid markers in palatine tonsil carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Nanosecond infrared laser (NIRL) low‐volume sampling combined with shotgun lipidomics uncovers distinct lipidome alterations in oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC) of the palatine tonsil. Several lipid species consistently differentiate tumor from healthy tissue, highlighting their potential as diagnostic markers.

Dynamic characteristics analysis of a multi-layer cantilever beam-type rotational piezoelectric energy harvester based on the Timoshenko beam model

open access: yesAIP Advances
This paper presents a rotational piezoelectric energy harvester (RPVEH) based on the Timoshenko beam model. The system comprises a five-layer composite cantilever beam with a tip magnet and two external magnets, creating a tri-stable potential energy ...

Experiment and numerical analysis on flexural behavior of cold-formed thin-walled C-shaped steel-paper straw board composite floors

open access: yesJournal of Asian Architecture and Building Engineering, 2023
As a new green material, steel-paper straw board (PSB) composite structures are widely used in practical engineering. This study proposed a new cold-formed thin-walled C-shaped steel-paper straw board (CFCSPSB) composite floor.

Peroxidasin enables melanoma immune escape by inhibiting natural killer cell cytotoxicity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Peroxidasin (PXDN) is secreted by melanoma cells and binds the NK cell receptor NKG2D, thereby suppressing NK cell activation and cytotoxicity. PXDN depletion restores NKG2D signaling and enables effective NK cell–mediated melanoma killing. These findings identify PXDN as a previously unrecognized immune evasion factor and a potential target to improve
