Bearing Capacity Characteristics of Composite Bucket Foundation Under Torque Loading

open access: yes, 2019
The composite bucket foundation for offshore wind turbine bears the vertical load from not only the superstructure and the horizontal load, caused by wind and wave, but also from the torque load caused by rotating structures, such as blades.

Deformation mechanism and design method of embankment supported by composite foundation in soft soil regions

open access: yesYantu gongcheng xuebao
To clarify the settlement mechanisms of rigid-pile composite ground supporting embankments in soft soil regions during both construction and long-term service, and to propose an optimal pile arrangement strategy for effectively controlling pavement ...

Degradation mechanism of the von Willebrand factor A2 domain by nattokinase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Nattokinase, a natto‐derived protease, exhibits potent antithrombotic effects. This study demonstrates that nattokinase directly cleaves the von Willebrand factor (vWF) A2 domain in vitro. Unlike the native regulator ADAMTS13, nattokinase degrades folded vWF independently of shear stress.

Modulation of Homer1 EVH1 domain internal dynamics by putative autism‐associated mutations

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The putative autism‐associated M65I and S97L variants of the EVH1 domain of the postsynaptic scaffold protein Homer1 do not exhibit substantial changes in their overall structure or partner binding. Both of them, but especially the M65I variant, show altered internal dynamics relative to the wild‐type domain on the μs‐ms timescale, indicated by the ...

Research on Composite Bolt Foundation Design for Transmission Lines

open access: yes, 2019
There are various forms of foundation used in transmission line engineering, which can be divided into undisturbed soil foundation and non-undisturbed soil foundation according to the form of stress.

The ubiquitin‐proteasome system and autophagy as guardians of the cellular proteome

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This Perspective covers the three principles governing the crosstalk between the ubiquitin‐proteasome system and autophagy in cellular proteostasis: (1) a shared ubiquitin code routing substrates via shuttle factors or autophagy receptors; (2) spatial compartmentalization into phase‐separated degradation hubs and organelle‐specific modules (exemplified

Strength of short high strength steel composite columns under biaxial bending

open access: yes, 2004
High strength quenched and tempered structural steel has seen an increased usage in multistorey building construction. Many current international codes do not cater for the use of high strength steel and thus much needed research is required to give ...

Experimental investigation on load transfer characteristics of screw groove pile-geogrid composite foundation

open access: yesYantu gongcheng xuebao
As a new type of road composite foundation, screw groove pile-geogrid composite foundation can effectively reduce foundation settlement and improve foundation bearing performance.
