Effect of micro–sized filler loading on surface erosion of silicone rubber composite insulators

open access: yes, 2012
Polymeric materials such as silicone rubber (SiR) are widely used in high voltage outdoor insulating systems and it has been shown that a practical solution to improve the thermal characteristics of SiR is to add micro-sized inorganic particles ...

Mechanical Behavior and Fracture Mechanisms of MXene/PVDF Nanocomponsites: In Situ Characterization and Multiscale Analysis

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Multiscale experiments and modeling reveal how Ti3C2Tx MXene nanosheets reinforce PVDF nanocomposites. An optimal MXene loading (∼1 wt.%) nearly doubles tensile strength through efficient stress transfer, flake alignment, and crack‐deflection mechanisms, transforming ductile polymer behavior into a controlled multi‐stage fracture pathway which aligns ...

Optoelectronic Synaptic Devices Using Molecular Telluride Phase‐Change Inks for Three‐Factor Learning

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Optoelectronic synaptic devices based on solution‐processed molecular telluride GST‐225 phase‐change inks are demonstrated for three‐factor learning. A global optical signal broadcast through a silicon waveguide induces non‐volatile conductance updates exclusively in locally electrically flagged memristors.

Physicochemical Properties and Molecular Dynamics Simulation of Composite Insulators in Regions with Intense Ultraviolet Radiation

open access: yes工程科学学报
In high-altitude areas, high-intensity ultraviolet (UV) radiation can induce changes in the molecular structure of silicone rubber, thereby leading to significant aging of composite insulators, ultimately resulting in insulation performance failure ...

Structure Change of the Insulating Composite

open access: yesAdvances in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, 2008
Modern power electric drives brought advantages in induction motor control. In the same time appeared problems with high frequency square waveform voltage (pulse stress) produced by the voltage converters. Voltage converters produce repetitive pulses with high level of voltage rise fronts (slew rates).

Modelling abnormal temperature increases on composite insulators and influencing factors

open access: yes
In recent years, abnormal hot spots of composite insulators on overhead lines have been frequently observed, seriously affecting the reliability of transmission lines and the system security of the power network. Once hot spots are detected, the strategy

Multimodal Soft Surgical Robots Enabled by Eco‐Degradable, Sterilizable Polymers and Transient Electronics

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A compostable PGS soft surgical robot with interchangeable modules integrates transient Mo tactile and Si thermal sensors for dual feedback. The device preserves its function after clinical‐grade sterilization, demonstrates stable actuation and cardiac tissue grasping with real‐time in vivo pulsatile monitoring, and biodegrades post‐use with soil‐safe,
