Unconventional mRNA processing and degradation pathways for the polycistronic yrzI (spyTA) mRNA in Bacillus subtilis

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The S1025 peptide is the major antidote to the YrzI toxin, which we renamed here as SpyT (Small Peptide YrzI Toxin) and SpyA (Small Peptide YrzI Antitoxin) (1). Degradation of the toxin–antitoxin spyTA mRNA, either by a translation‐dependent cleavage by the endoribonuclease Rae1 (2) or by direct attack by 3′‐exoribonucleases (3), also contributes to ...

CRYPTANALYSIS BIOINSPIRED METHODS OF ASYMMETRIC KEY ON THE BASIS OF COMPOSITE NUMBER FACTORIZATION

open access: yesВестник Донского государственного технического университета, 2018
The application of the bioinspired methods for handling the cryptanalysis problem of the asymmetric encryption algorithms on the basis of the composite number factorization is considered.

Research on vibration noise of the composite laminated plate structure based on the FEM-BEM

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2017
Based on the FEM-BEM hybrid method, the effects of the angle of composite layer, number of layers and the opening position of a composite material and opening form are studied in order to get these three aspects’ influence law on the vibration and ...

Compositions, Partitions, and Fibonacci Numbers

open access: yesThe Fibonacci Quarterly, 2011
A bijective proof is given for the following theorem: the number of compositions of n into odd parts equals the number of compositions of n + 1 into parts greater than one. Some commentary about the history of partitions and compositions is provided.

The solution supramolecular structure of α2 → 8 polysialic acid suggests a structural cause for its low immunogenicity

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
α2 → 8 polysialic acid elicits poor immunogenicity. Small‐angle scattering shows a supramolecular structure with parallel‐chain binding, although in different forms at μm and mm calcium. The major histocompatibility complex requires molecular weights around 2000 Da to produce antibodies, and 2000 Da polysialic oligomers will bind in these structures ...

Irreducibility results for compositions of polynomials in several variables [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2006
We obtain explicit upper bounds for the number of irreducible factors for a class of compositions of polynomials in several variables over a given field. In particular, some irreducibility criteria are given for this class of compositions of polynomials.

XVII. Memoir on the theory of the compositions of numbers [PDF]

open access: yesPhilosophical Transactions of the Royal Society of London. (A.), 1893
1. Compositions are merely partitions in which the order of occurrence of the parts is essential; thus, while the partitions of the number 3 are (3), (21), (12), (111). The enumerations of the compositions of a number n into p parts, zeros excluded, is given by the coefficient of

Refining the NaV1.7 pharmacophore of a class of venom‐derived peptide inhibitors via a combination of in silico screening and rational engineering

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Venom peptides have shown promise in treating pain. Our study uses computer screening to identify a peptide that targets a sodium channel (NaV1.7) linked to chronic pain. We produced the peptide in the laboratory and refined its design, advancing the search for innovative pain therapies.

Bad witnesses for a composite number

open access: yesActa Arithmetica
We describe the average sizes of the set of bad witnesses for a pseudo-primality test which is the product of a multiple-rounds Miller-Rabin test by the Galois test.

Unlocking the potential of tumor‐derived DNA in urine for cancer detection: methodological challenges and opportunities

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Urine is a rich source of biomarkers for cancer detection. Tumor‐derived material is released into the bloodstream and transported to the urine. Urine can easily be collected from individuals, allowing non‐invasive cancer detection. This review discusses the rationale behind urine‐based cancer detection and its potential for cancer diagnostics ...
