Ultra-ductile and low friction epoxy matrix composites
We present the results of an effective reinforcement of epoxy resin matrix with fullerene carbon soot. The optimal carbon soot addition of 1 wt. % results in a toughness improvement of almost 20 times.

Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.

Composite reinforcements are attracting attention in the reinforced concrete (RC) field for their high corrosion resistance, low thermal conductivity, and low electromagnetic interference behavior. However, compared to metallic reinforcements, composites

Literature review on reinforced concrete members strengthened with FRP at room and elevated temperature [PDF]
In the last 30 years, composite materials have been successfully applied as structural reinforcement to strengthen existing structures. The success of applying FRPs (Fibre Reinforced Polymers) for strengthening is due to their excellent mechanical ...

Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.

Somatic mutational landscape in von Hippel–Lindau familial hemangioblastoma
The causes of central nervous system (CNS) hemangioblastoma in Von Hippel–Lindau (vHL) disease are unclear. We used Whole Exome Sequencing (WES) on familial hemangioblastoma to investigate events that underlie tumor development. Our findings suggest that VHL loss creates a permissive environment for tumor formation, while additional alterations ...

Experimental Characterization of Banana-Palm Fiber Reinforced Hybrid Polymer Composite [PDF]
Composite materials are synthesized by using natural cellulose fibers with matrix, due to their improved properties. In this work, banana and palm fibers are treated with 2% and 8% NaoH, respectively, for the removal of lignin and hemicelluloses.

Fibreglass Reinforced Composites
The use of fibreglass products in conservation and available products that can be employed as joints are presented. The experiment relied on comparative tests of load capacity of the dowel joints in wood and fibreglass. The results of this pilot study did not allow to state the advantage of tested fibreglass joints over wood however it opened up the ...
