Smart and Sustainable Sizing: Investigating the Sensing Behavior of Glass Fabrics Coated With Waterborne Polyurethane/Graphene Dispersions

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Waterborne polyurethane/graphene formulations are developed as piezoresistive coatings on glass fabric to enable flexible strain sensing. The graphene‐enabled conductive network provides a stable electromechanical response under cyclic compression. The coating demonstrates reliable pressure‐dependent resistance changes, highlighting its potential for ...

Characterization and Design Framework for Micro‐ and Nanoscale Printed Metal Interconnects in Hybrid Electronic Systems

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
This work establishes a framework for high‐resolution printed interconnects by coupling e‐jet printing control, multilayer deposition, and sintering optimization. Ink properties and printing speed influence particle stacking, while different sintering atmospheres drive distinct microstructural evolution.

Combustion and Propulsion Research [PDF]

open access: yes, 1963
Combustion chemistry is one of the oldest branches of chemical science. Among its pioneers must be counted Lavoisier, Bunsen, and others whose names belong among those of the founders of chemical science.

Ultra‐Thin Soft Pneumatic Actuation for Minimally Invasive Neural Interfacing

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Parylene C is a common polymer in bioelectronics, favored for its biological and chemical inertness. However, this makes bonding layers of Parylene C together very challenging. Here it is a laser to selectively weld layers of Parylene C to create high‐pressure fluidic actuation devices.

Dynamic Current Routing in Conductive Liquid Crystal Elastomers for Complex Deformation Actuators

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
This work introduces a novel actuation control strategy in which electrical stimulation generates localized Joule heating in conductive liquid crystal elastomer (LCE) surfaces, enabling complex 3D deformations from a single homogeneous surface without preprogramming.

Tunable Applicator for Microneedle‐Based Medical Devices

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
This paper presents a simple, low‐cost tunable applicator (TAPP) for microneedle array patches that uses a material‐agnostic controlled‐fracture mechanism to ensure reliable skin penetration and uniform array engagement. The scalable, modular design is compatible with injection molding and 3D printing, can be integrated directly into patches, and is ...

Application of aluminum-based micro-cell composite fuel in HTPB propellant

open access: yesJournal of Measurement Science and Instrumentation
To study the combustion performance of aluminum-based micro-cell composite fuel aluminum@ammonium perchlorate(Al@AP), in hydroxyl-terminated polybutadiene (HTPB) solid propellant, the Al@AP was added to HTPB solid propellant instead of Al powder and part
