Protein pyrophosphorylation by inositol pyrophosphates — detection, function, and regulation
Protein pyrophosphorylation is an unusual signaling mechanism that was discovered two decades ago. It can be driven by inositol pyrophosphate messengers and influences various cellular processes. Herein, we summarize the research progress and challenges of this field, covering pathways found to be regulated by this posttranslational modification as ...

Full-Field Imaging for Evaluating Mode-II Fracture Toughness in CFRP Laminates
To replicate delaminations at the coupon and substructural scales, simulated defects are often introduced into test specimens; therefore, understanding their behaviour within the laminate is essential.

This study reveals how the mitochondrial protein Slm35 is regulated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The authors identify stress‐responsive DNA elements and two upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in the 5′ untranslated region of SLM35. One uORF restricts translation, and its mutation increases Slm35 protein levels and mitophagy.

Strength of textile Composites
For the prediction of composite strengths with representative volume elements (RVE) a thorough understanding of the ongoing failure mechanisms is needed. This again is influenced by the manufacturing process.

Properties evolution of flax/epoxy composites under fatigue loading [PDF]
The tension–tension fatigue behaviour of flax fibre reinforced epoxy matrix composites have been investigated for specimens having [0]12, [90]12, [0/90]3S and [±45]3S lay-ups.

Low-temperature sequential deposition for efficient inverted perovskite solar cells
Inverted perovskite solar cell has made significant progress in recent years. Although two-step sequential deposition shows the benefits to obtain higher quality large-size perovskite crystals, the high annealing temperature, which is required to achieve

The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

Composites based on natural fibres and thermoplastic matrices.
PhDThis thesis examines the possibility of reinforcing thermoplastic matrices, notably polypropylene (PP) and polyhydroxyalkanoates (PHAs), by (a vegetable fibre) flax.
