PEG‐Dialdehydes/Hyperbranched Amines Based Hydrogels and their Potential as Futures Bone Adhesives

open access: yesMacromolecular Materials and Engineering, Volume 311, Issue 1, January 2026.
Different length crosslinkers are blended and used to synthesize hydrogels with the potential use as bone adhesives. With decreasing average crosslinker length, gelation time drops, while the gel strength increases. The hydrogel properties do not affect the bond strength, neither on bone nor on synthetic substrates.

Obestatin Treatment Counteracts Muscle Wasting by Reactivation of Autophagy in Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 7, Issue 1, January 2026.
Obestatin signaling reactivates autophagy by NEDD4‐L activation under DMD conditions. Tyrosine switch on NEDD4‐L activates autoubiquitination that serves as a scaffold to recruit USP10 to form a deubiquitination complex, which stabilizes VPS34 to promote autophagy by activation of the Beclin1 complex. In parallel, NEDD4‐L favors AMPK exposure to CaMKKß

Immediate Effects of Abdominal Hypopressive Technique Versus PNF Stretching in Shortened Hamstring Syndrome: A Pilot Randomized Controlled Trial

open access: yesPhysiotherapy Research International, Volume 31, Issue 1, January 2026.
ABSTRACT Background and Purpose Short Hamstring Syndrome (SHS) is described as a deficit of extensibility of this musculature. In contrast to Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (PNF), which is widely used in these cases, the abdominal hypopressive technique (AHT) is presented as a possible method to improve flexibility.

Comparative metabolomic and transcriptomic analysis of 2D and 3D mesenchymal stem cell cultures for improved therapeutic applications

open access: yesBritish Journal of Pharmacology, Volume 183, Issue 2, Page 379-392, January 2026.
Comparative metabolomic and transcriptomic profiling reveals distinct metabolic shifts and reduced proliferation in 3D MSC spheroids, providing insights to optimise MSC‐based therapies. Abstract Background and Purpose Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) are used widely in regenerative medicine due to their multipotency and immunomodulatory properties ...
