Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system
FEBS Letters, EarlyView.Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

Cadmium and lead in compounded feeds.
Netherlands Journal of Agricultural Science, 1986 Cadmium and lead were estimated in 452 compounded feeds for dairy cattle, sows, piglets, growing pigs, layers and broiler chickens. The average Cd content was 0.126 to 0.174 mg/kg. In 88% of samples Cd content was 0.5 mg/kg. The average Pb content was 0.82 to 1.70 mg/kg. The maximum permissible concentration of 5.0 mg/kg was exceeded in only 2 samples.

This study was designed to identify a suitable apixaban suspension formulation that is easy to prepare in a pharmacy setting, is compatible with commonly used feeding tubes, and has a beyond-use date of 7 days.
