THE SPECIFICITY OF ROMANIAN COMPOUND ANTHROPONYMS CONTAINING PREPOSITIONS [PDF]

open access: yesDiversitate si Identitate Culturala in Europa, 2015
In the present paper we propose to analyze the occurrences of the prepositions in the Romanian anthroponymic structures in relation to the situation in other Romance languages: French, Italian, Spanish and Portuguese.

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

An isoform of 14‐3‐3 protein regulates transbilayer lipid movement at the plasma membrane

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Loss of 14‐3‐3ζ in CHO cells confers resistance to exogenous phosphatidylserine (PS) and impairs endocytosis‐independent inward flip‐flop of fluorescent PS at the plasma membrane. RNAi‐mediated knockdown reproduces this defect, while no additive effect is seen in ATP11C‐deficient cells.

Macrocyclic compounds derived from Perfluoro-4-isopropylpyridine [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
PerflLioro-4-isopropylpyridine (1) has been shown to undergo nucleophilic substitution reactions with wide range of nucleophiles and was thus demonstrated to behave as a powerful regioselective electrophile in most cases.(INSERT DIAGRAM) This work has ...

The ‘aftermath’ of compounds: Investigating Compounds and their Semantic Representations

open access: yesThe 14th International Joint Conference on Natural Language Processing and The 4th Conference of the Asia-Pacific Chapter of the Association for Computational Linguistics
This study investigates how well computational embeddings align with human semantic judgments in the processing of English compound words. We compare static word vectors (GloVe) and contextualized embeddings (BERT) against human ratings of lexeme meaning dominance (LMD) and semantic transparency (ST) drawn from a psycholinguistic dataset.

An Investigation of Morphological Productivity of Nominal and Verbal Compounds in Legal Discourse

open access: yesSEEU Review, 2019
Compounding is one of the most productive word-formation processes in contemporary Standard English. Hence, new patterns occur regularly. Productivity is one of the characteristic features of human language which implies the ability to create and ...
