This paper presents an experimental investigation of compression on pristine specimens and the compression after impact (CAI) response of wood-based sandwich structures. Nine different types of sandwiches, made with plywood core and different aluminum or composite (carbon or glass or flax fiber) skins, are studied.

The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

Impact Damage Tolerance of Composite Laminates with Through-The-Thickness Stitches [PDF]
The ability of through-the-thickness stitches to contain damage during a low-velocity impact event and increase the residual strength of stitched panels was investigated in this research.

Compression After Impact Response of Kevlar Composites
Boeing and Airbus developed a special testing procedure to investigate the compressive response of laminates that have been impacted (following standards ASTM D 7137 and DIN 65561). This study focuses on both experimental and numerical analysis of Kevlar plates subjected to compression after impact.

β‐TrCP overexpression enhances cisplatin sensitivity by depleting BRCA1
Low levels of β‐TrCP (Panel A) allow the accumulation of BRCA1 and CtIP, which facilitate the repair of cisplatin‐induced DNA damage via homologous recombination (HR) and promote tumor cell survival. In contrast, high β‐TrCP expression (Panel B) leads to BRCA1 and CtIP degradation, impairing HR repair, resulting in persistent DNA damage and apoptosis ...

Bridging the gap: Multi‐stakeholder perspectives of molecular diagnostics in oncology
Although molecular diagnostics is transforming cancer care, implementing novel technologies remains challenging. This study identifies unmet needs and technology requirements through a two‐step stakeholder involvement. Liquid biopsies for monitoring applications and predictive biomarker testing emerge as key unmet needs. Technology requirements vary by

Modeling impact on aluminium sandwich including velocity effects in honeycomb core [PDF]
A numerical model has been developed on metallic sandwich structures as an armor for aeronautical applications. Several combinations of AA5086-H111 aluminium skins and aluminium honeycomb core have been studied, considering medium-velocity and highenergy
