Computer Vision Color Constancy from Maximal Projections Mean Assumption

2016
In this paper, we propose a fast solution for the problem of illuminant color estimation. We present a physics-based algorithm that uses the mean projections maximization assumption. We investigated this hypothesis on a large images dataset and used it afterwords to estimate the illuminant color. The proposed algorithm reduces the illuminant estimation

Color constancy computation in near-Mondrian scenes using a finite dimensional linear model

Proceedings CVPR '88: The Computer Society Conference on Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition, 2003
The authors combine an alternate version of B.K.P. Horn's computation (1974) for recovering lightness from Land's retinex scheme, as modified by A. Blake (1985), with a finite-dimensional linear model for color images. The authors recover surface spectral reflectance from images of near-Mondrian scenes by using edge detection and derivatives to screen ...

Gain-Pixel Visualization Algorithm Designed for Computational Color Constancy Scheme

2020 IEEE 5th International Conference on Image, Vision and Computing (ICIVC), 2020
Color constancy (CC) is an essential part of machine vision. Previously reported CC algorithms lacked consistent and clear-cut evaluation diagrams. This paper instead presents a gain-pixel visualization CC algorithm which uses optimization numerical analysis and 2D-3D graphical displays.

Real-time Retinex-based and learning-based methods for computational color constancy with high accuracy [PDF]

open access: possible, 2016
Removing the influence of illumination and camera characteristics on image colors is an important image enhancement problem. It is solved by applying computational color constancy methods, whose goal is to assure that colors of objects in the image remain relatively constant regardless of the illumination conditions in the scene. Many such methods have
