SAAF-SVR for computational color constancy
Journal of the Optical Society of America AVariations in illumination conditions critically degrade color fidelity in digital images, thereby compromising the accuracy of downstream computer vision tasks. Building upon these historical principles, this paper proposes a self-attention autoencoding feature support vector regression algorithm.

Computational color constancy from maximal projections mean assumption
Multimedia Tools and Applications, 2017In this paper, we propose an efficient algorithm for illuminant estimation. The 2D estimator is derived based on the maximal projections’ mean assumption according to which the estimated illuminant in a chromaticity subspace is the vector maximizing the sum of orthogonal projections of image colors.

Excerpt Color constancy is a visual phenomenon wherein colors of objects remain relatively the same under changing illumination. A red apple gives the same red appearance under either a fluorescent or incandescent lamp, although the lights that the apple reflects to the eye are quite different.

Robust Algorithm for Computational Color Constancy
2010 International Conference on Technologies and Applications of Artificial Intelligence, 2010Color constancy (CC) or white balance (WB) is an important image processing step in digital camera and machine vision. This paper presents a robust computational algorithm that offers an accurate solution for CC. The proposed CC measure exploits the scanning strategy of RGB channel gain adjustment.

Attention-based Convolutional Neural Network for Computer Vision Color Constancy
2019 11th International Symposium on Image and Signal Processing and Analysis (ISPA), 2019Achieving color constancy is an important part of image preprocessing pipeline of contemporary digital cameras. Its goal is to eliminate the influence of the illumination color on the colors of the objects in the image scene. State-of-the- art results have been achieved with learning- based methods, especially when the deep learning approaches have ...

Algorithm for Computational Measure of Color Constancy
2010Color constancy (CC) is the ability to perceive or retrieve constant image colors despite changes in illumination. CC has long been a research subject in color and machine vision. This paper presents a computational algorithm that offers an optimized solution for CC.

Research on color constancy computation based on YCbCr color space and gray surface
SPIE Proceedings, 2014Color constancy is of important for many computer vision applications, such as image classification, color object recognition, object tracking and so on. But unlike the human visual system, imaging device cannot be able to compute color constant descriptors which do not vary with the color of the illuminant, so solving color constancy problem is ...

Neural Networks, 1996
Several psychophysical experiments have revealed that color constancy exists even in shadowed scenes where the spatial power distribution of the illuminant has abrupt step changes, while previous models for color constancy fail to distinguish shadows and reflectance changes.

Computational approaches to color constancy: Adaptive and ontogenetic considerations.
Psychological Review, 1989Recent computational approaches to color constancy can be realized using a two-stage model of color vision. Adaptation at both the sensor stage and the second or reflectance channel stage is necessary to compute illuminant-invariant reflectance estimates.
