3D computational ghost imaging

open access: yes, 2013
Computational ghost imaging is a technique that enables lensless single-pixel detectors to produce images. By illuminating a scene with a series of patterns from a digital light projector (DLP) and measuring the reflected or transmitted intensity, it is ...

A Test of the Coase Conjecture Using Prices of Electronic Books

open access: yesSouthern Economic Journal, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The Coase Conjecture predicts that a durable‐goods monopolist without commitment will rapidly cut price toward marginal cost. We test this prediction in the electronic‐book market using release‐day prices. To proxy for marginal cost, we use competitive prices of public‐domain electronic books on the same platforms.

Gradient-Descent-like Ghost Imaging

open access: yes, 2021
Ghost imaging is an indirect optical imaging technique, which retrieves object information by calculating the intensity correlation between reference and bucket signals.

Regional Infrared and Visible Image Registration for Distribution Substation Areas With Wide Depth of Field

open access: yesHigh Voltage, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Infrared and visible image registration is a key task in automated distribution network inspection. Previous approaches typically apply a single homography to align infrared and visible images leading to local misalignment. To address this, this study proposes a novel region‐based registration algorithm specifically designed for wide‐depth ...

Artificial intelligence–based 3D segmentation of tangle‐associated TDP‐43 in neurodegeneration

open access: yesBrain Pathology, EarlyView.
Multiplex immunostaining of anti‐phosphorylated TDP‐43, tau (AT8, pS396, TauC3, MN423, GT38), and Thioflavin S combined with AI‐based object recognition, reconstruction, and TAT maturation analysis pipeline in limbic regions revealed that distinct aggregation and tangle maturation patterns underscored region‐specific dynamics in the neurodegenerative ...

Image‐Based Spatio‐Temporal Interpolation for Split Rendering

open access: yesComputer Graphics Forum, EarlyView.
Abstract Low‐powered devices – such as small form factor head‐mounted displays (HMDs) – struggle to deliver a smooth and high‐quality viewing experience, due to their limited power and rendering capabilities. Cloud rendering attempts to solve the quality issue, but leads to prohibitive latency and bandwidth requirements, hindering use with HMDs over ...

Hierarchical Differentiable Fluid Simulation

open access: yesComputer Graphics Forum, EarlyView.
We introduce a two‐step algorithm that significantly reduces memory usage for solving control problems using differentiable fluid simulation techniques: our method first optimizes for bulk forces at reduced resolution, then refines local details over sub‐domains while maintaining differentiability. In trading runtime for memory, it enables optimization

Computational Ghost Imaging With Bessel Beam for Axial Objects

open access: yesIEEE Photonics Journal
In ghost imaging (GI) techniques, if the illumination patterns used in the reconstruction algorithm do not match that incident on the object's surface, the reconstructed image will be blurred.

3D Character Reconstruction from Hand‐drawn Model Sheets

open access: yesComputer Graphics Forum, EarlyView.
Abstract Hand‐drawn model sheets are widely used in character design to define 3D shape and appearance through sparse multi‐view drawings. Reconstructing 3D characters from such sparse inputs has traditionally been challenging due to insufficient visual information.
