Targeted modulation of IGFL2‐AS1 reveals its translational potential in cervical adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, Volume 20, Issue 6, Page 1643-1660, June 2026.
Cervical adenocarcinoma patients face worse outcomes than squamous cell carcinoma counterparts despite similar treatment. The identification of IGFL2‐AS1's differential expression provides a molecular basis for distinguishing these histotypes, paving the way for personalized therapies and improved survival in vulnerable populations globally.

Assessing How CBCT Image Quality Influences Diagnostic Evaluability of Periodontal Bone: Establishing Human Baselines for AI Training (In Vitro Study)

open access: yesOral
Background: Cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) is increasingly applied for the assessment of periodontal bone levels. However, its measurement reliability and consistency depend strongly on image quality parameters such as voxel size, noise, and ...

Network divergence analysis identifies adaptive gene modules and two orthogonal vulnerability axes in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.

Grid-based climate variability analysis of Addis Ababa, Ethiopia

open access: yesHeliyon
Climate change is an intricate global environmental concern. However, its impact is more pervasive in developing nations such as Ethiopia. Hence, this manuscript examines temperature variability and the magnitude of change over 38 years in the specific ...

Biodynamics of supine humans and interaction with transport systems during vibration and shocks

open access: yesJournal of Low Frequency Noise, Vibration and Active Control, 2019
This work investigates the effect of the contact surfaces on the biomechanical response of supine humans during whole-body vibration and shocks. Twelve participants were exposed to three-dimensional random vibration and shocks and were tested with two ...

Pre‐analytical optimization of cell‐free DNA and extracellular vesicle‐derived DNA for mutation detection in liquid biopsies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pre‐analytical handling critically determines liquid biopsy performance. This study defines practical best‐practice conditions for cell‐free DNA (cfDNA) and extracellular vesicle–derived DNA (evDNA), showing how processing time, storage conditions, tube type, and plasma input volume affect DNA integrity and mutation detection.

EDNRB‐dependent endothelin signaling reduces proliferation and promotes proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition in gliomas

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated

Interrogating the immune landscape of microsatellite stable RAS‐mutated colon cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
COLOSSUS project RAS‐mutated MSS colon cancer study explored transcriptomics and immune cell density by immunohistochemistry (IHC), Immunoscore (IS), ISIC/TuLIS scores, mutation counts, and detected different prevalences but similar microenvironment composition across immune markers with clinical relevance for future immunotherapy combination ...

Automatic, computer aided geometric design of free-knot, regression splines [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
A new algorithm for Computer Aided Geometric Design of least squares (LS) splines with variable knots, named GeDS, is presented. It is based on interpreting functional spline regression as a parametric B-spline curve, and on using the shape preserving ...
