In Situ Liquid‐Cell Transmission Electron Microscopy Insights Into Lithium‐Ion Battery Materials Degradation: Challenges and Emerging Solutions

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 8, 9 February 2026.
Lithium‐ion battery degradation arises from complex, localized processes during operation, limiting long‐term performance. In situ electrochemical liquid cell TEM provides unique access to these mechanisms. This review summarizes degradation phenomena revealed by liquid cell TEM, traces the evolution of the three main cell designs, compares their ...

Magnetic Solitons and Thickness‐Dependent Magnetization Reversal in Interconnected Helical Nanowire Arrays

open access: yesAdvanced Physics Research, Volume 5, Issue 2, February 2026.
3D magnetic interconnected helical nanowire arrays are fabricated and shown to host a variety of magnetic solitons. It is observed that the magnetic reversal mechanism is repeatable and not stochastic for a consistent direction of the applied field. Additionally, changing the shape of the nanowire arrays alters the magnetic solitons that form, but the ...

A multi-image encryption algorithm based on hybrid chaotic map and computer-generated holography

open access: yesAIMS Mathematics
In response to the critical challenges of securing multi-image transmissions in cloud and 5G/6G networks, this paper proposes an innovative encryption algorithm that synergistically combines hybrid chaotic maps with computer-generated holography (CGH ...

Characteristics of Natural Remanence Records in Fine‐Grained Particles Returned From Asteroid Ryugu

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Planets, Volume 131, Issue 2, February 2026.
Abstract Particles collected from the asteroid Ryugu by the Hayabusa2 spacecraft offer a unique opportunity to investigate the magnetic record of the primitive solar system, as any terrestrial magnetic contamination is minimal and can be accounted for.

Phase Modulation for Quadruplex Channels of Arbitrary Orthogonal Polarization States via Bilayer Metasurfaces

open access: yesNanophotonics, Volume 15, Issue 2, 27 January 2026.
This work demonstrates a strategy for four‐channel phase modulation and flexible energy distribution of arbitrary orthogonal states of polarization under incomplete polarization conversion conditions. Such a strategy can be implemented through an all‐dielectric free‐standing bilayer metasurface configuration and can be used for multichannel optical ...

An Epsilon‐Near‐Zero‐Based Nonlinear Platform for Ultrafast Re‐Writable Holography

open access: yesNanophotonics, Volume 15, Issue 2, 27 January 2026.
We show that an unstructured, sub‐wavelength thick epsilon‐near‐zero material, such as ITO, can be efficiently used for ultrafast re‐writable holography over a broad bandwidth range. We showcase two powerful applications of our scheme, that is, spatial structuring of light and optical computation.

Conversion of 2D picture to color 3D holography using end-to-end convolutional neural network

open access: yesPhotoniX
In the field of holographic 3D display, generating a three-dimensional (3D) computer-generated hologram (CGH) from a single two-dimensional (2D) image has been a significant challenge due to the high-dimensionality of the problem.
