Dual Reinforcement-Based Specification Generation for Image De-Rendering [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2021
Advances in deep learning have led to promising progress in inferring graphics programs by de-rendering computer-generated images. However, current methods do not explore which decoding methods lead to better inductive bias for inferring graphics programs.

Crosstalk between gut microbiota and tumor: tumors could cause gut dysbiosis and metabolic imbalance

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In this research, we analyzed the relationship between gut microbiota and tumor. We discovered that both subcutaneous and metastatic tumors would alter the composition and metabolic function of gut microbiota. Meanwhile, fecal microbiota transplantation also indicated the anti‐tumor role of the gut microbiota, revealing the crosstalk between tumor and ...

A small footprint couch‐top support device for image‐guided radiotherapy of heavy patients

open access: yesJournal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics, Volume 23, Issue 12, December 2022., 2022
Abstract Purpose Patients with body weights close to or above 400 lbs present unique challenges in radiation therapy since the weight limit of most treatment couches decreases as the couch‐top extends toward the treatment gantry. The purpose of this work was to develop a small footprint couch‐top support platform to safely perform image‐guided ...

Recent Advances in Transient Imaging: A Computer Graphics and Vision Perspective [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2016
Transient imaging has recently made a huge impact in the computer graphics and computer vision fields. By capturing, reconstructing, or simulating light transport at extreme temporal resolutions, researchers have proposed novel techniques to show movies of light in motion, see around corners, detect objects in highly-scattering media, or infer material

The PTTG1/VASP axis promotes oral squamous cell carcinoma metastasis by modulating focal adhesion and actin filaments

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
VASP was found to be overexpressed in metastatic oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) tissues. Notably, PTTG1‐ and VASP‐deficient OSCC cells demonstrated suppressed metastatic properties by disrupting the interaction between the cytoskeleton and focal adhesion (FAs) in the filopodia region.

Image quality comparisons of coil setups in 3T MRI for brain and head and neck radiotherapy simulations

open access: yesJournal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics, Volume 23, Issue 12, December 2022., 2022
Abstract Purpose MRI is increasingly used for brain and head and neck radiotherapy treatment planning due to its superior soft tissue contrast. Flexible array coils can be arranged to encompass treatment immobilization devices, which do not fit in diagnostic head/neck coils. Selecting a flexible coil arrangement to replace a diagnostic coil should rely

Graphic Symbol Recognition using Graph Based Signature and Bayesian Network Classifier [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
We present a new approach for recognition of complex graphic symbols in technical documents. Graphic symbol recognition is a well known challenge in the field of document image analysis and is at heart of most graphic recognition systems. Our method uses structural approach for symbol representation and statistical classifier for symbol recognition. In

VectorFusion: Text-to-SVG by Abstracting Pixel-Based Diffusion Models [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2022
Diffusion models have shown impressive results in text-to-image synthesis. Using massive datasets of captioned images, diffusion models learn to generate raster images of highly diverse objects and scenes. However, designers frequently use vector representations of images like Scalable Vector Graphics (SVGs) for digital icons or art.

Artificial evolution for computer graphics

open access: yesInternational Conference on Computer Graphics and Interactive Techniques, 1991
This paper describes how evolutionary techniques of variation and selection can be used to create complex simulated structures, textures, and motions for use in computer graphics and animation.
