Temperature Dependent Swelling Transitions of Hummers Graphite Oxide in Liquid 1‐Alcohols

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, Volume 12, Issue 6, March 16, 2025.
Temperature‐dependent XRD study of Hummers GO in a set of longer liquid 1‐alcohols revealed‐swelling transitions never previously observed for this type of graphite. The transitions correspond to strong change of inter‐layer distance and change in orientation of intercalated molecules.

Structural Insights Into Aluminum‐Doped Manganese Dioxides as Promising Materials for Direct Lithium Extraction: Modeling and Mechanism Study

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
A two‐stage sorption mechanism is proposed for Al‐doped HMnO in direct lithium extraction. Batch sorption experiments and modeling identify two key sorption sites on Al‐HMnO: surface sites (planar and edge) and vacancy sites (W). At pH 12, Stage I involves surface ion exchange, followed by Stage II, where surface complexation occurs between Li⁺ ions ...

4D Bioprinted Self‐Folding Scaffolds Enhance Cartilage Formation in the Engineering of Trachea

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, Volume 10, Issue 6, March 18, 2025.
A bilayer self‐folding scaffold, triggerable by humidity, is fabricated via 4D bioprinting for trachea engineering. An analytical model is derived to predict its radius of curvature, enabling its scalability. Cartilage progenitor cells seeded on the scaffold perceive scaffold final curvature and react to it, by enhancing the upregulation of pro ...
