Deferred blending: image composition for single-pass point rendering

open access: yes, 2007
In this paper, we propose novel GPU accelerated algorithms for interactive point-based rendering (PBR) and high-quality shading of transparent point surfaces.

In Situ Micromechanical Study of Bimodal γ′–γ″ Precipitate Assemblies in Ni–Cr–Al–Nb Superalloy

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A Ni–Cr–Al–Nb superalloy with a bimodal γ′–γ″ precipitate distribution is developed. Composite precipitate assemblies form through heterogeneous nucleation, effectively impeding dislocation motion. Micropillar compression reveals high strength at room and elevated temperatures, governed by precipitate shearing, with coupled faulting mechanisms ...

Nondestructive Testing of Welded Composite Metal Foams

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
X‐ray computed tomography (CT) is used to evaluate welded steel–steel composite metal foam (CMF) joints of two density classes. It reports variation in postweld spatial void distribution and correlates it to weld‐induced changes, mechanical performance, and failure within welded CMF panels.

Differential Blending for Expressive Sketch-Based Posing

open access: yes, 2013
Generating highly expressive and caricatured poses can be difficult in 3D computer animation because artists must interact with characters indirectly through complex character rigs.

Designing Polymer Nanocomposites for X‐Ray Shielding: Mechanisms, Architectures, and Scalable Processing

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This review highlights advances in lightweight, lead‐free polymer nanocomposites for diagnostic X‐ray shielding. By linking filler chemistry, dispersion, architecture, and photon interaction mechanisms, it establishes structure–performance relationships guiding material design.

Supereroi seriali: Major Grom e la costruzione di una mitologia nazionale russa post-sovietica

open access: yesFabrica Litterarum Polono-Italica
The concept of the “series” has become central to the study of contemporary storytelling, particularly within visual media such as film, television, and comics.

Game innovation through conceptual blending

open access: yes, 2012
In  this  paper  I  wish  to  apply implications of  the Conceptual  Blending  Theory  to  computer  games.  I  will analyze  chosen  examples  and  discuss  them  as  a  result  of video  game  innovation  made  possible  through  "conceptual blending."

Compatibility of Methacrylate Based Resins Controls Interfacial Failure and Toughness in 3D‐Printed Multimaterial Composites

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This work shows that the mechanical performance of multimaterial digital light processing (DLP) printed thermoset composites is governed by resin compatibility and interfacial design rather than spatial patterning alone. Brittle and ductile resin combinations produced premature interfacial failure, while graded interfaces and mechanically compatible ...

Understanding dance and its non-human agency in Ekman’s “A Swan Lake”

open access: yesDanza e Ricerca
This article examines Alexander Ekman’s A Swan Lake through new materialisms, focusing on how the introduction of a 6,000-liter lake redefines movement and narrative in ballet. Drawing on Barad’s (2003) concept of intra-action and Bennett’s (2010) notion
