Molybdenum‐Catalyzed Asymmetric Amination of α‐Hydroxy Esters: Synthesis of α‐Amino Acids

N‐protected unnatural α‐amino acids are synthesized from α‐hydroxy esters and amines in a Mo‐catalyzed reaction. The formation of C─N bond takes place in a highly efficient way, which can be rendered asymmetric when a chiral molybdenum‐complex and chiral phosphoric acid (CPA) are used.

Mechanochemistry: Fundamental Principles and Applications

Self‐Assembly Engineering of Fullerene‐Like Polyhedra: V60, V66, V72 From {MV5} Pentagonal Second Building Block

A precise self‐assembly of fullerene‐like V60‐MOP constructed from the first discovered polyoxovanadates five‐membered ring V5 units is discovered. In situ modifications are successfully used to insert {MO5} (M = V/Mo) in the center of the V5 ring, resulting in three other isomorphic spherical cages V66‐MOP, V72‐MOP, and V60Mo12‐MOP.
