Carbon Nanofiber/Polyaniline Composite Aerogel with Excellent Electromagnetic Interference Shielding, Low Thermal Conductivity, and Extremely Low Heat Release

open access: yesNano-Micro Letters
Highlights Using electrospun high-strength carbon nanofibers as the aerogel scaffold, high loading of polyaniline in the aerogel was achieved through seed polymerization, forming the core–shell structure fibers and simultaneously connecting the fibers as

Intrapatient tumour heterogeneity and clonal evolution in an autopsy study of metastatic salivary gland cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumour heterogeneity and clonal evolution of metastatic salivary gland cancer were evaluated in two patients with adenoid carcinoma and one patient with myoepithelial carcinoma. Radiology‐guided autopsy enabled multi‐region sampling (total samples n = 149), followed by whole‐genome sequencing and phylogenetic reconstruction (17 tumour samples, 4–7 per ...

Somatostatin receptor 4 (SSTR4) is a tumor suppressor in cutaneous and head & neck squamous cell carcinomas

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study identifies somatostatin receptor 4 (Sstr4) as a critical tumor suppressor against skin and head/neck cancers (HNSCC, cSCC, and BCC). The loss of Sstr4 removes a check on cell growth, causing hyperactivation of the MAPK‐ERK signaling pathway (↑).

Partial FAK suppression promotes tumor growth, an effect reversed by macrophage p110δ PI3K inactivation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Partial inhibition of focal adhesion kinase (FAK) can paradoxically promote tumor growth, rather than simply producing a weaker antitumor effect than that observed with strong FAK suppression. In breast cancer and melanoma models, targeting p110δ PI3K, particularly in macrophages, counteracted these tumor‐promoting effects, highlighting the importance ...

Bayesian decision feedback equaliser for overcoming co-channel interference

open access: yes, 1996
The authors derive a Bayesian decision feedback equaliser which incorporates co-channel interference compensation. By exploiting the structure of co-channel interfering signals, the proposed Bayesian decision feedback equaliser is able to distinguish an ...

Overview of Electromagnetic Interference Mechanisms and System-Level Effects in MHz-Range Wireless Charging for Electric Vehicle Applications

open access: yesSensors
Wireless power transfer (WPT) systems for electric vehicles (EVs) are increasingly being studied in the MHz range to increase power density and reduce the size of passive components.

Mechanisms and therapeutic opportunities of the ribotoxic stress response in cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cancer cells' high translational demand creates opportunities to therapeutically target ribosome function. Ribosome stalling and collisions activate ZAKα and the ribotoxic stress response (RSR), which can trigger rapid, p53‐independent apoptosis in cancer.

Regulation of the lncRNA NEAT1 by p53‐ΔNp63 crosstalk modulates the DNA damage response and therapeutic efficacy in HNSCC

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC) p53 and p63 exert opposite roles on the transcription regulation of the lncRNA NEAT1. Under basal conditions, p53 levels are low and p63 represses NEAT1 expression. Upon genotoxic stress, p53 is rapidly induced, displacing p63 from the NEAT1 promoter leading to NEAT1 transcriptional activation and ...

Demo 23-16 Interference Filters

open access: yes, 2001
An interference filter is a glass plate coated with a thin uniform layer of dielectric material. Light of a single wavelength is prevented from reflecting by interference between the front and rear surfaces of the dielectric, resulting in primarily one ...

Enhancing Electrical Impedance Based Deformation Sensing with Dielectric Current Guide

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials
Sensing the deformation of soft robots is vital for effective control and interaction with the environment. Electrical impedance tomography (EIT) enables such sensing by monitoring changes in conductivity, but its sensitivity is often highest near the ...
