Big cones and little cones

Histopathology, 1978
To investigate whether the amount of tissue removed at conization could influence the frequency of inadequate excision of cervical atypias, 354 cone specimens were measured. The data indicate that the frequency of lesions incompletely removed at conization increased with decreasing size (ie. length and volume) of the specimen.

Increasing cones, recession cones and global cones

Optimization, 2000
In this paper, we discuss and compare various cones used in the economics literature to analyze arbitrage in general equilibrium models with short seling. Our main result is that under certain conditions on an economic model, the closure of the increasing cone and the closure of the global cone are both equal to the arbitrage cone, the recession cone ...

On Cone-Efficiency, Cone-Convexity and Cone-Compactness

SIAM Journal on Applied Mathematics, 1978
The properties of efficient (admissible) points of subsets of $R^n $ are discussed in the case when the space is ordered by a convex cone. It is demonstrated that the notion of cone-compactness (a generalization of compactness) is sufficient to guarantee the existence of an efficient point.
