DNA methylation and expression of MAPRE3 affect overall survival of early‐stage non‐small cell lung cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Both cg12821679MAPRE3 methylation and MAPRE3 expression are significantly associated with overall survival (OS) of non‐small cell lung cancer. Meanwhile, MAPRE3 expression significantly modified the effect of smoking cessation on OS. Smoking cessation benefits OS merely for patients with high MAPRE3 expression.

A method for in silico exploration of potential glioblastoma multiforme attractors using single-cell RNA sequencing

open access: yesScientific Reports
We presented a method to find potential cancer attractors using single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq) data. We tested our method in a Glioblastoma Multiforme (GBM) dataset, an aggressive brain tumor presenting high heterogeneity.

Clinical performance of the urine‐based TERT promoter AbsoluteQ Digital PCR for non‐invasive detection of bladder cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
A urine‐based digital PCR assay targeting two hotspot TERT promoter variants detected bladder cancer with high sensitivity and no false positives in this case–control cohort. The streamlined AbsoluteQ workflow outperformed Sanger sequencing and supports non‐invasive molecular testing for bladder cancer detection.

Distribution of Toxoplasma gondii among cattle in certain regions of Ukraine

open access: yesUkrainian Journal of Veterinary Sciences, 2022
Toxoplasma gondii is the agent of toxoplasmosis, which is common to both humans and cattle. That is why the goal of work was to study the spreading of the agent of toxoplasmosis among cattle in certain regions of Ukraine, which in turn will make it ...

Co-Saliency Detection for RGBD Images Based on Effective Propagation Mechanism

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
Given a group of images, co-saliency detection aims at highlighting the common and salient foreground regions. To optimally explore the complementary information among images, we propose an effective propagation mechanism for RGBD images.

A Poisson process approximation for generalized K-5 confidence regions [PDF]

open access: yes
One-sided confidence regions for continuous cumulative distribution functions are constructed using empirical cumulative distribution functions and the generalized Kolmogorov-Smirnov distance.

Loss of IGF‐1R impairs DNA‐PKcs recruitment to chromatin leading to defective end‐joining

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
IGF‐1R promotes radioresistance by facilitating DNA‐PKcs recruitment to chromatin, enabling non‐homologous end‐joining (NHEJ) repair of double‐strand breaks. Inhibition or loss of IGF‐1R disrupts this recruitment to damage sites, driving compensatory reliance on microhomology‐mediated end‐joining (MMEJ) repair.

The association between confidence in health system and self-rated health: from the perspective of regional comparison

open access: yesFrontiers in Public Health
BackgroundUniversal health coverage (UHC) aims to ensure that all people can access quality health services without financial hardship, and thereby improve health outcomes.

Human VMPFC encodes early signatures of confidence in perceptual decisions

open access: yeseLife, 2018
Choice confidence, an individual’s internal estimate of judgment accuracy, plays a critical role in adaptive behaviour, yet its neural representations during decision formation remain underexplored.
