Multi‐objective optimization design of the large‐scale high‐intensity homogeneous magnetic field coil system based on non‐dominated sorting genetic algorithm (NSGA‐II)

open access: yesIET Electric Power Applications, 2022
With the development of modern tokamak devices, the magnetic interference problem has become increasingly serious. On considering the International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor (ITER), for example, the stray magnetic field around the tokamak device

Symmetry, Confinement, and the Higgs Phase [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2021
We show that the Higgs and confinement phases of a gauge Higgs theory, with the Higgs field in the fundamental representation of the gauge group, are distinguished both by a broken or unbroken realization of the global center subgroup of the gauge group, and by the type of confinement in each phase.

Gribov's Confinement Scenario [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
I give a brief account of Gribov's scenario of supercritical charges in QCD. Gribov's equation for the Green function of light quarks and its derivation from the corresponding Dyson-Schwinger equation are described.

The confining trailing string [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2014
We extend the holographic trailing string picture of a heavy quark to the case of a bulk geometry dual to a confining gauge theory. We compute the classical trailing confining string solution for a static as well as a uniformly moving quark. The trailing string is infinitely extended and approaches a confining horizon, situated at a critical value of ...

On‐treatment dynamics of circulating extracellular vesicles in the first‐line setting of patients with advanced non‐small cell lung cancer: the LEXOVE prospective study

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The LEXOVE prospective study evaluated plasma cell‐free extracellular vesicle (cfEV) dynamics using Bradford assay and dynamic light scattering in metastatic non‐small cell lung cancer patients undergoing first‐line treatments, correlating a ∆cfEV < 20% with improved median progression‐free survival in responders versus non‐responders.

MHD simulation on magnetic compression of field reversed configurations with NIMROD

open access: yesNuclear Fusion, 2023
Magnetic compression has long been proposed a promising method for plasma heating in a field reversed configuration (FRC). However, it remains a challenge to fully understand the physical mechanisms underlying the compression process, due to its highly ...

Temperament Trait Changes in Japanese Black Cows Under Grazing and Confined Conditions

open access: yesFrontiers in Veterinary Science, 2021
The objective of the present study was to reveal the effects of grazing on the temperament traits of cows. Nine Japanese Black cows [344 ± 32 kg body weight (BW), 7.7 ± 3.0 year of age], which had various experiences, such as tethering, handling, and ...

Quark confinement and curved spaces [PDF]

open access: yesEur.Phys.J.C45:421-425,2006, 2005
In this work it will be shown how quark confinement appears when wave equations derived in curved spaces are considered. First, the equations and their solutions for Coulomb-like potentials will be presented, and then, how this theory leads to quark confinement. A comparison between different models of confinement will be also made.

Association Between Current Physical Activity and Current Perceived Anxiety and Mood in the Initial Phase of COVID-19 Confinement

open access: yesFrontiers in Psychiatry, 2020
The World Health Organization (WHO) has declared a world pandemic due to COVID-19, and several enacted measures such as compulsory confinement may have collateral consequences on both physical and mental health.
