Methods of conflict probability estimation and decision making for air traffic management

open access: yesAviation, 2006
This research addresses the issue of conflict detection in Air Traffic Control (ATC) and in Airborne Separation Assurance System (ASAS) domains. Stochastic methods of conflict situation detection and conflict probability evaluation are presented.

Using generalized stochastic method to evaluate probability of conflict in controlled air traffic

open access: yesAviation, 2007
The introduction of the new concepts of air traffic management (ATM) and transition from centralized to decentralized air traffic control (ATC) with the change of traditional ATM to Cooperative ATM sets new tasks and opens new capabilities for air ...

Pignistic Belief Transform: A New Method of Conflict Measurement

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
To measure conflict between two basic probability assignment functions plays the key role of conflict management in Dempster-shafer evidence theory. In this paper, a new conflict measure is proposed.

A Framework for Estimating Human-Wildlife Conflict Probabilities Conditional on Species Occupancy

open access: yesFrontiers in Conservation Science, 2021
Managing human-wildlife conflicts (HWCs) is an important conservation objective for the many terrestrial landscapes dominated by humans. Forecasting where future conflicts are likely to occur and assessing risks to lives and livelihoods posed by wildlife

IS THE BALKANIZATION OF THE UKRAINIAN-RUSSIAN CONFLICT PROBABLE?

open access: yesRussian Journal of Economics and Law, 2015
Objective: to determine the possibility and probability of Balkanization of the Ukrainian-Russian inter-societal relations. Methods: the need to study the main factors affecting the state of the modern Russian-Ukrainian conflict in its ethno-political dimension, with the predominat focus on intersocietal relations, determined the use of the historical ...

Aircraft conflict detection: A method for computing the probability of conflict based on Markov chain approximation [PDF]

open access: yes2003 European Control Conference (ECC), 2003
We study the automated aircraft conflict detection problem. Specifically, we introduce a method for estimating the probability of conflict for two-aircraft encounters at a fixed altitude. The spatial correlation between the wind perturbations to the aircraft positions is taken into account.
