Compositional Confluence Criteria

open access: yesLogical Methods in Computer Science
We show how confluence criteria based on decreasing diagrams are generalized to ones composable with other criteria. For demonstration of the method, the confluence criteria of orthogonality, rule labeling, and critical pair systems for term rewriting are recast into composable forms. We also show how such a criterion can be used for a reduction method

Raman‐based label‐free microscopic analysis of the pancreas in living zebrafish larvae

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Forward stimulated Raman scattering (F‐SRS) and epi coherent anti‐Stokes Raman scattering (E‐CARS) allow label‐free discrimination of distinct subcellular structures in the pancreas of living zebrafish larvae. Given the straightforward applicability, we anticipate broad implementation of Raman microscopy in other organs and across various biomedical ...

Assessment on the Linear Effect of Urban Road Network Confluence and Applicability of Clark Unit Hydrograph Model

open access: yes工程科学与技术, 2020
The applicability of a hydrological model is an important issue for its application. On the basis of Clark linear distributed unit hydrograph model, the urban road network confluence in the North region of Future Science & Technology Park located in ...

Numerical Simulation of Flow and Scour in a Laboratory Junction

open access: yesGeosciences, 2018
Confluences are a common feature of riverine systems; the area of converging flow streamlines and potential mixing of separate flows. The hydrodynamics about confluences have a highly complex three-dimensional flow structure.

A light‐triggered Time‐Resolved X‐ray Solution Scattering (TR‐XSS) workflow with application to protein conformational dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Time‐resolved X‐ray solution scattering captures how proteins change shape in real time under near‐native conditions. This article presents a practical workflow for light‐triggered TR‐XSS experiments, from data collection to structural refinement. Using a calcium‐transporting membrane protein as an example, the approach can be broadly applied to study ...

Single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assays for high‐throughput DNA–protein interaction studies

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We describe an optimised single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assay that visualises DNA–protein interactions in real time. Linear DNA fragments are tethered to a surface and stretched by buffer flow for fluorescence imaging. Using λ and φX174 DNA, this protocol enhances reproducibility and accessibility, providing a versatile approach for studying diverse ...

Analysing the significance of small conformational changes and low occupancy states in serial crystallographic data

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This protocol paper outlines methods to establish the success of a time‐resolved serial crystallographic experiment, by means of statistical analysis of timepoint data in reciprocal space and models in real space. We show how to amplify the signal from excited states to visualise structural changes in successful experiments.

The Poetics of Kinship

open access: yesArt/Research International
We write about the poetics of kinship with birds, trees, stones, and places as an act of resistance to neo-literal, neo-liberal destruction of refuge for non-human beings. Through research in which we situate ourselves in relation to the more-than-human,

Identifying transcription factors controlling the basal expression of human MRP4 highlights a substantial role for Sp1

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The MRP4 transporter exports several drugs and signaling molecules. Here, we identified key promoter elements regulating basal MRP4 expression. Using reporter assays, we defined a conserved region with essential Sp1 and contributory Ets sites, which controlled basal MRP4 expression.
