In vivo imaging of intradermal tattoos by confocal scanning laser microscopy

open access: yes, 2006
Background/aims: In vivo confocal laser scanning microscopy (CLSM) is a new method for high-resolution imaging of intact skin in situ. Horizontal mapping of the outer skin is provided (magnification × 1000).

Tyrosinase Driven‐Intracellular Polymerization of a Porphyrin Derivative Induced Immunogenic Death of Melanoma Cells and Strengthened Photodynamic Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study uses tyrosinase, which is highly expressed in melanoma, to drive porphyrins to polymerize and self‐assemble within tumor cells to form retented microstructures. This process induces immunogenic death and activates immune responses (M1 macrophages, dendritic cells, CD8+T cells), turning “cold” tumors into “hot” tumors.

Proton assisted dissolution of the dental hard tissue enamel as a non-bacterial process [PDF]

open access: yes
The overall aim of this thesis was to examine the kinetics of proton-promoted dissolution of the dental hard tissue enamel as a non-bacterial process and the evaluation of inhibitors with the intent of minimising the dissolution process and effectively

Dumbbell‐Structured Plasmonic‐Enhanced Optical Nanoprobes Boosting Photo‐Magnetic‐Acoustic Multimodal Imaging‐Guided Photodynamic‐Photothermal Synergistic Treatment and Immunogenic Death in Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study reports a novel rationally‐designed optical nanoprobe based on dumbbell‐shaped mesoporous silica‐coated gold nanorods, loaded with rare‐earth oxides, photosensitizers, and tumor‐targeted peptides, enabling plasmonic‐enhanced multimodal imaging and PTT‐PDT synergy.

Adaptive optics for confocal laser scanning microscopy with adjustable pinhole

open access: yes, 2016
The pinhole plays an important role in confocal laser scanning microscopy (CLSM) for adaptive optics (AO) as well as in imaging, where the size of the pinhole denotes a trade-off between out-of-focus rejection and wavefront distortion.

Microbial Biofilm Detection and Differentiation by Dual Staining Using Maneval’s Stain

open access: yesBio-Protocol
Microbial biofilms are structured communities of microorganisms embedded in a self-produced extracellular matrix, adhering to surfaces. These biofilms enhance bacterial resistance to antibiotics, immune responses, and environmental stress.

Janus‐Type Electrostatic Potential Gradient‐Activated Dynamic Zn2+‐Coordinating Nitrogen Sites in Molecularly Locked Nanocellulose Separators for Stable Zinc‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A multifunctional benzimidazole‐terminated CNF separator is constructed via a PEI‐mediated covalent locking strategy, generating dense zincophilic sites that accelerate Zn2+ transport and desolvation while enabling uniform Zn (002) deposition and suppressing side reactions.

Flexible Unusual Ternary‐Component Graded‐Modulus Dielectric Films with High‐Density Capacitive Energy Storage

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Hierarchical PP–LSR107–BaTiO3 nanocomposite films are fabricated by one‐step extrusion and stretching for roll‐to‐roll manufacture, combining high energy storage and processing flexibility. LSR107 surrounds BaTiO3‐rich regions, locating amorphous PP, decreasing defects, and introducing deep traps that homogenize the electric field and suppress charge ...
