Direct Coumarin Synthesis by Gold Catalyzed Hydroarylation of Alkynoic Acids/Esters

open access: yesChemCatChem, EarlyView.
Gold‐catalyzed, direct hydroarylation of alkynoic acids (or esters) with phenols in a small amount of an ionic liquid as solvent and reaction promoter provides an efficient pathway for the one‐pot preparation of coumarins. This synthetic methodology is highly atom efficient, works with <1 mol% gold and the catalytic system is recyclable.

Analytic solution for the space-time fractional Klein-Gordon and coupled conformable Boussinesq equations

open access: yesResults in Physics, 2018
In this paper, we constructed a travelling wave solution for space-time fractional nonlinear partial differential equations by using the modified extended Tanh method with Riccati equation.

Organocatalytic Switches of DNA Glycosylase OGG1 Catalyze a Highly Efficient AP‐Lyase Function

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
Organocatalytic switches are small molecules that combine active site affinity and a nitrogen‐centered base for catalysis, effectively removing the rate‐determining step of the OGG1 biochemical cascade. Here, we identify a minimal structure and modulate the active nitrogen pKa, enabling the catalysis of ultrafast AP site incisions in a range of pH ...

Fluorescent Deferoxamine Complexes of Cu(II) and Zr(IV): Insights in the Development of Dual Imaging Probes

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
The insertion of a fluorescent coumarin unit by using a lysine‐based linker on deferoxamine leads to a chelating agent (DFOKC), whose Cu(II) and Zr(IV) complexes can be used for both optical imaging and positron emission tomography. DFOKC shows increased binding ability for Cu(II) and Zr(II) and improved tumor cell internalization via pinocytosis ...

Functional regression with intensively measured longitudinal outcomes: a new lens through data partitioning

open access: yesCanadian Journal of Statistics, EarlyView.
Abstract Modern longitudinal data from wearable devices consist of biological signals at high‐frequency time points. Distributed statistical methods have emerged as a powerful tool to overcome the computational burden of estimation and inference with large data, but methodology for distributed functional regression remains limited.

Actin Filament Pointed Ends: Assays for Regulation of Assembly and Disassembly by Tropomodulin and Tropomyosin

open access: yesCytoskeleton, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Actin filaments are dynamic polymers whose length depends on regulated monomer association and dissociation at their ends. Actin barbed‐end dynamics are relatively better understood, primarily due to the approximately tenfold faster subunit on/off rates at barbed versus pointed ends.

Lacustrine and fan‐delta sediments in syn‐rift lake basins

open access: yesThe Depositional Record, EarlyView.
A consistent model for the sequence framework and depositional pattern of asymmetric half‐grabens in syn‐rift lake basins bounded by active faults has been established, complementing existing models for marine rift successions. Syn‐rift lake basins are characterised by relatively small dimensions, steep slopes, poorly developed shoreline strata ...
