To Conform or Not to Conform: Spontaneous Conformity Diminishes the Sensitivity to Monetary Outcomes

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2013
When people have different opinions in a group, they often adjust their own attitudes and behaviors to match the group opinion, known as social conformity. The affiliation account of normative conformity states that people conform to norms in order to 'fit in', whereas the accuracy account of informative conformity posits that the motive to learn from ...

Low-Profile Penta-Band Automotive Patch Antenna Using Horizontal Stacking and Corner Feeding

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
Connected cars with a multitude of frequency bands to be covered for the 4G and 5G mobile communication standards would benefit immensely from the low-profile and compact multi-band antenna designs.

To Conform or Not to Conform : Mixed Conformity Model

open access: yesAsia Marketing Journal, 2017
This study explores the influence of reference groups depending on the type (in-group versus out-group) and the size (an individual member versus a group as a whole) of reference groups. We propose a mixed conformity model, which suggests that people want to fit in with their in-group but at the same time they want to stand out within their in-group ...

Biological Evaluation of Grid versus 3D Conformal Radiotherapy in Bulky Head and Neck Cancer

open access: yesJournal of Medical Physics, 2022
Grid radiotherapy is one of the treatment techniques applied to treat patients with advanced bulky tumors. Purpose: This study aims to estimate the difference in biological and dosimetric parameters of the grid radiotherapy technique for the treatment of

D-Homothetically Deformed Kenmotsu Metric as a Ricci Soliton

open access: yesAnnales Mathematicae Silesianae, 2019
In this paper we study the nature of Ricci solitons in D-homo-thetically deformed Kenmotsu manifolds. We prove that η -Einstein Kenmotsu metric as a Ricci soliton remains η -Einstein under D-homothetic deformation and the scalar curvature remains ...

Design of Planar and Conformal, Passive, Lossless Metasurfaces That Beamform

open access: yesIEEE Journal of Microwaves, 2022
A general technique for synthesizing both planar and conformal beamforming metasurfaces is presented that utilizes full-wave modeling techniques and rapid optimization methods.

Conformal Mapping with as Uniform as Possible Conformal Factor [PDF]

open access: yesSIAM Journal on Imaging Sciences, 2013
According to the uniformization theorem, any surface can be conformally mapped into a domain of a constant Gaussian curvature. The conformal factor indicates the local scaling introduced by such a mapping. This process could be used to compute geometric quantities in a simplified flat domain with zero Gaussian curvature. For example, the computation of

Degradation mechanism of the von Willebrand factor A2 domain by nattokinase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Nattokinase, a natto‐derived protease, exhibits potent antithrombotic effects. This study demonstrates that nattokinase directly cleaves the von Willebrand factor (vWF) A2 domain in vitro. Unlike the native regulator ADAMTS13, nattokinase degrades folded vWF independently of shear stress.
