Statistical mechanics approach to some problems in conformal geometry

open access: yes, 2000
A weak law of large numbers is established for a sequence of systems of N classical point particles with logarithmic pair potential in $\bbR^n$, or $\bbS^n$, $n\in \bbN$, which are distributed according to the configurational microcanonical measure ...

A methionine‐lined active site governs carbocation stabilization and product specificity in a bacterial terpene synthase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals a unique active site enriched in methionine residues and demonstrates that these residues play a critical role by stabilizing carbocation intermediates through novel sulfur–cation interactions. Structure‐guided mutagenesis further revealed variants with significantly altered product profiles, enhancing pseudopterosin formation. These

Dual targeting of RET and SRC synergizes in RET fusion‐positive cancer cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Despite the strong activity of selective RET tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs), resistance of RET fusion‐positive (RET+) lung cancer and thyroid cancer frequently occurs and is mainly driven by RET‐independent bypass mechanisms. Son et al. show that SRC TKIs significantly inhibit PAK and AKT survival signaling and enhance the efficacy of RET TKIs in ...

$W$--geometry of the Toda systems associated with non-exceptional simple Lie algebras

open access: yes, 1993
The present paper describes the $W$--geometry of the Abelian finite non-periodic (conformal) Toda systems associated with the $B,C$ and $D$ series of the simple Lie algebras endowed with the canonical gradation.

Conformally invariant differential equations and projective geometry

open access: yesJournal of Functional Analysis, 1981
AbstractWe combine harmonic analysis on certain pseudo-Riemannian symmetric spaces with results on conformally invariant linear and non-linear differential equations. This gives in many cases part of the decomposition of certain representations of the conformal group of a manifold when restricted to the isometry group.

A superposition free method for protein conformational ensemble analyses and local clustering based on a differential geometry representation of backbone [PDF]

open access: yesProteins: Structure, Function, and Bioinformatics, 2019
Abstract Here a differential geometry (DG) representation of protein backbone is explored on the analyses of protein conformational ensembles. The protein backbone is described by curvature, κ, and torsion, τ, values per residue and we propose 1) a new dissimilarity and protein flexibility measurement and 2) a ...

Recurrent cancer‐associated ERBB4 mutations are transforming and confer resistance to targeted therapies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We show that the majority of the 18 analyzed recurrent cancer‐associated ERBB4 mutations are transforming. The most potent mutations are activating, co‐operate with other ERBB receptors, and are sensitive to pan‐ERBB inhibitors. Activating ERBB4 mutations also promote therapy resistance in EGFR‐mutant lung cancer.

Superconformal algebras for twisted connected sums and G 2 mirror symmetry

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2018
We realise the Shatashvili-Vafa superconformal algebra for G 2 string compactifications by combining Odake and free conformal algebras following closely the recent mathematical construction of twisted connected sum G 2 holonomy manifolds.

A design tool for globally developable discrete architectural surfaces using Ricci flow

open access: yesJapan Architectural Review, 2023
This paper presents an approach for the design of discrete architectural surfaces that are globally developable; that is, having zero Gaussian curvature at every interior node.

Conformal de Rham Hodge theory and operators generalising the Q-curvature [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
We look at several problems in even dimensional conformal geometry based around the de Rham complex. A leading and motivating problem is to find a conformally invariant replacement for the usual de Rham harmonics. An obviously related problem is to find,
