Conformational analysis of sialyloligosaccharides

Carbohydrate Research, 1991
The conformational properties of several sialyloligosaccharides present as terminal sequences in N- and O-linked carbohydrate groups of glycoproteins, have been analyzed based on the n.m.r. data of selected sialosides. The compounds examined include representatives of the alpha-D-NeuAc-(2----6)-beta-D-Gal-(1----4)-beta-D-GlcNAc, alpha-D-NeuAc-(2----3 ...

Conformational analysis of xyloglucans

International Journal of Biological Macromolecules, 1990
Xyloglucan isolated from the elongating regions of pea stems was examined using X-ray diffraction and energy calculations. The X-ray fibre pattern suggested that the backbone (1----4)-beta-D-glucan takes an extended two-fold helix similar to common cellulose.

Conformational analysis—II

Tetrahedron, 1981
Abstract The solution conformation of bicyclo [3.1.0] hexan-3-one has been obtained by the use of the shifts induced in its 1H and 13C NMR by Yb(fod)3. Refinement of the angle of pucker, ∝, of the 5-membered ring indicates that the molecule adopts a flattened boat conformation with ∝ = 195°.

Conformational analysis of cyproheptadine hydrochloride

Journal of Medicinal Chemistry, 1990
A nuclear magnetic resonance and theoretical study on the conformations and molecular flexibility of cyproheptadine hydrochloride (1) is reported. In the 1H NMR spectrum of 1 in CDCl3, two conformational forms are observed to occur in an approximate ratio of 1:4. In both forms, NOE and coupling constant measurements suggested that the terminal N-methyl

Synthesis and Conformational Analysis of Efrapeptins

Chemistry – A European Journal, 2011
AbstractThe efrapeptin family of peptide antibiotics produced by the fungus Tolypocladium niveum, and the neo‐efrapeptins from the fungus Geotrichum candidumare inhibitors of F1‐ATPase with promising antitumor, antimalaria, and insecticidal activity. They are rich in Cα‐dialkyl amino acids (Aib, Iva, Acc) and contain one β‐alanine and several pipecolic

Conformational analysis

2012
This chapter examines conformational analysis. Even though no two molecules have exactly the same shape at any one time, they are still all the same chemical compound—they have all the same atoms attached in the same way. The different shapes of molecules of the same compound are called different conformations.

Conformation analysis of eel calcitonin

European Journal of Biochemistry, 1998
The solution structure of eel calcitonin in a mixture of 60 % water and 40 % trifluoroethanol has been determined in this study by the combined use of 1H‐NMR spectroscopy and distance geometry calculations. 1H‐NMR spectroscopy provided 181 distance constraints, 5 dihedral angle constraints and 14 hydrogen bond constraints.

Conformational analysis of 1,4-heterophosphinanes

Russian Journal of General Chemistry, 2007
Structure of 1,4-heterophosphinanes in solution was studied by the methods of dipole moments, Kerr effect, molecular mechanics, and density functional theory calculations. It was determined that chair conformation with an equatorial orientation of the exocyclic phenyl substituent is preferred for 1,4-heterophosphinanes independent of the second ...

Conformational analysis of xylan chains

Carbohydrate Research, 2005
The present study provides a theoretical description of the different levels of structural organization that characterize the xylan polysaccharide in its native and hydrophobic lauroyl esterified forms. The goal of this study was to ascertain the role played by the hydroxyl or lauroyl side groups on the conformational flexibility of the xylan chain ...
