Dynamics of conformal foliations [PDF]

open access: yesApplied Mathematics and Nonlinear Sciences, 2020
Abstract The purpose of this article is to review the author's results on the existence and structure of minimal sets and attractors of conformal foliations. Results on strong transversal equivalence of conformal foliations are also presented. Connections with works of other authors are indicated.

Potential therapeutic targeting of BKCa channels in glioblastoma treatment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review summarizes current insights into the role of BKCa and mitoBKCa channels in glioblastoma biology, their potential classification as oncochannels, and the emerging pharmacological strategies targeting these channels, emphasizing the translational challenges in developing BKCa‐directed therapies for glioblastoma treatment.

Analysis of AlphaFold and molecular dynamics structure predictions of mutations in serpins.

open access: yesPLoS ONE
Serine protease inhibitors (serpins) include thousands of structurally conserved proteins playing key roles in many organisms. Mutations affecting serpins may disturb their conformation, leading to inactive forms.

Dynamics of ABC Transporter P-glycoprotein in Three Conformational States. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
We used hydrogen-deuterium exchange mass spectrometry (HDX-MS) to obtain a comprehensive view of transporter dynamics (85.8% sequence coverage) occurring throughout the multidrug efflux transporter P-glycoprotein (P-gp) in three distinct conformational ...

The role of conformational diffusion in ion channel gating

open access: yes, 2003
We consider an exactly tractable model of the Kramers type for the voltage-dependent gating dynamics of single ion channels. It is assumed that the gating dynamics is caused by the thermally activated transitions in a bistable potential.

Recurrent cancer‐associated ERBB4 mutations are transforming and confer resistance to targeted therapies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We show that the majority of the 18 analyzed recurrent cancer‐associated ERBB4 mutations are transforming. The most potent mutations are activating, co‐operate with other ERBB receptors, and are sensitive to pan‐ERBB inhibitors. Activating ERBB4 mutations also promote therapy resistance in EGFR‐mutant lung cancer.

High-Sensitivity Fluorometry to Resolve Ion Channel Conformational Dynamics

open access: yesCell Reports, 2018
Summary: Fluorescent labels offer the capability to follow conformational dynamics of membrane proteins, but signal detection in such recordings is inherently difficult to achieve in a cell membrane and lacks sufficient time resolution to follow ...

Conformal invariance and critical dynamics

open access: yesJournal of Physics A: Mathematical and General, 1985
The author discusses the behaviour of dynamic correlation functions under conformal transformations. In particular the exact form of the dynamic scaling function at the critical point for an arbitrary isotropic two-dimensional model is obtained with either conserved or nonconserved order parameter.

Peroxidasin enables melanoma immune escape by inhibiting natural killer cell cytotoxicity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Peroxidasin (PXDN) is secreted by melanoma cells and binds the NK cell receptor NKG2D, thereby suppressing NK cell activation and cytotoxicity. PXDN depletion restores NKG2D signaling and enables effective NK cell–mediated melanoma killing. These findings identify PXDN as a previously unrecognized immune evasion factor and a potential target to improve
