On the number of ordinary conics
We prove a lower bound on the number of ordinary conics determined by a finite point set in $\mathbb{R}^2$. An ordinary conic for a subset $S$ of $\mathbb{R}^2$ is a conic that is determined by five points of $S$, and contains no other points of $S ...

Omnidirectional Structured Light in a Flexible Configuration
Structured light is a perception method that allows us to obtain 3D information from images of the scene by projecting synthetic features with a light emitter. Traditionally, this method considers a rigid configuration, where the position and orientation

Which geodesic flows are left-handed ?
We prove that the geodesic flow on the unit tangent bundle to a hyperbolic 2-orbifold is left-handed if and only if the orbifold is a sphere with three conic points.

This study reveals how the mitochondrial protein Slm35 is regulated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The authors identify stress‐responsive DNA elements and two upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in the 5′ untranslated region of SLM35. One uORF restricts translation, and its mutation increases Slm35 protein levels and mitophagy.

Two-Term Disjunctions on the Second-Order Cone
Balas introduced disjunctive cuts in the 1970s for mixed-integer linear programs. Several recent papers have attempted to extend this work to mixed-integer conic programs.

In situ molecular organization and heterogeneity of the Legionella Dot/Icm T4SS
We present a nearly complete in situ model of the Legionella Dot/Icm type IV secretion system, revealing its central secretion channel and identifying new components. Using cryo‐electron tomography with AI‐based modeling, our work highlights the structure, variability, and mechanism of this complex nanomachine, advancing understanding of bacterial ...

REMARKS ON LIPSCHITZ GEOMETRY OF GLOBALLY CONIC SINGULAR MANIFOLDS
We study metric properties of manifolds with conic singularities and present a natural interplay between metrically conic and metrically asymptotically conic behavior.

Nanosecond infrared laser (NIRL) low‐volume sampling combined with shotgun lipidomics uncovers distinct lipidome alterations in oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC) of the palatine tonsil. Several lipid species consistently differentiate tumor from healthy tissue, highlighting their potential as diagnostic markers.

Coherence of vortex pseudo-Bessel beams in turbulent atmosphere [PDF]
Theoretical research of coherent properties of vortex conic waves propagating in a turbulent atmosphere was developed. The analysis was based on the analytical solution of the equation for the transverse second-order mutual coherence function of a light ...
