Two-Dimensional Analysis for Conical Permanent Magnet Motors
2018 XIII International Conference on Electrical Machines (ICEM), 2018Conical motors are nowadays finding a niche place in certain aspects of industry. Due to their geometrical features and the particular flux paths, they intrinsically need complex 3D finite-element tools for accurate analysis. In this paper, however a more cost-effective but still highly accurate modelling methodology for conical machines is proposed ...

Thermal analysis of the conical rotor motor using LPTN combined with fluid simulation [PDF]
The temperature investigation for conical rotor motor is relative important at the design step to insure the safety operation. This paper presents a transient thermal analysis mainly based on the lumped parameter thermal network (LPTN). Because the complex structure of the rotor, the computational fluid dynamics (CFD) method is adapted to simulate the ...

Proposed designs for a cylindrical-conical-cylindrical motor-transmission system
Russian Engineering Research, 2009251 In Russia, worm or cylindrical–worm motor–transmission systems are generally employed where circumstances demand a compact drive with a large gear ratio (100–200). A deficiency of this system is the low efficiency (0.65–0.80). In motor–transmission systems, an elastically compensating clutch, a shaft-in-shaft system, a V-belt drive, or a ...

Current delta control for conical bearingless switched reluctance motors
2018 13th IEEE Conference on Industrial Electronics and Applications (ICIEA), 2018The rotor of the conical bearingless switched reluctance motor can be fully levitated and rotate at the same time without magnetic bearings. This paper proposes a novel control method for this type of motors. By reconstructing the winding currents as three different components, the five-axes positions and rotor angular velocity can be regulated by the ...

A novel 6/4 conical bearingless switched reluctance motor
2015 18th International Conference on Electrical Machines and Systems (ICEMS), 2015Generally the conventional bearingless switched reluctance motors (BSRMs) need to work with magnetic bearings to realize the active control of five-Degrees Of Freedom (5-DOF) of the rotating part. However, this kind of structure increases the total cost and reduces overall efficiency of the 5-DOF suspension system.

Analysis of a conical optical beam deflector insensitive to motor wobble
Applied Optics, 1995The analysis of a patented optical beam deflector based on a rotating prism is presented. It is shown that because of the transmissive, as opposed to reflective, nature of the proposed deflector, the resulting scan spot is for all practical purposes completely free of the tracking error that is so problematic to all reflective-type deflectors.

Compensation control of axial force for conical bearingless switched reluctance motors
2018 13th IEEE Conference on Industrial Electronics and Applications (ICIEA), 2018Conical bearingless switched reluctance motors (CBSRMs) can provide axial forces for 5-Degree-Of-Freedom (5-DOF) magnetic levitation driving system. The electromagnetic field of the CBSRM is so complicated that the electromagnetic forces are difficult to control including torque and levitation forces.

Characteristics Analysis of a Novel 12/14 Conical Bearingless Switched Reluctance Motor
2018 21st International Conference on Electrical Machines and Systems (ICEMS), 2018In order to realize the active control of five-Degrees of Freedom (5-DOF) of the rotation part, a novel conical bearingless switched reluctance motor (BLSRM) is proposed in this paper. Unlike conventional BLSRMs, the proposed structure is composed of two conical 12/14 BLSRMs, and each conical type adopts hybrid stator poles with short flux paths ...
