Nano‐Encapsulated Cinnamomum cassia Essential Oil in Combination With Fluconazole Exhibits Synergistic Activity Against Fluconazole‐Resistant Nakaseomyces glabratus and Pichia kudriavzevii

open access: yesVeterinary Medicine and Science, Volume 12, Issue 3, May 2026.
Nano‐encapsulated Cinnamomum cassia essential oil (nano‐CC‐EO) showed in vitro antifungal activity against fluconazole‐resistant Nakaseomyces glabratus and Pichia kudriavzevii clinical isolates. Checkerboard assays revealed synergistic or additive interactions between nano‐CC‐EO and fluconazole in several isolates, without evidence of antagonism. These

Analysis of plant and environmental samples for the quarantine fungus Phyllosticta citricarpa in four European citrus‐growing areas

open access: yesAnnals of Applied Biology, Volume 188, Issue 3, Page 996-1012, May 2026.
Methodologies for the early detection of Phyllosticta citricarpa in air and rainwater samples were developed and applied over three consecutive years (2018–2021) in four European citrus sites, previously reported to harbour the pathogen. Phyllosticta citricarpa was not detected in plant, air, or rainwater samples, and no CBS symptoms were observed on ...

Systematics of the New World Rostrate Genus Metaxyphloeus Thomas, 1984 (Coleoptera: Laemophloeidae): Morphological Evidence for Monophyly Supporting a Broader Generic Concept

open access: yesAustral Entomology, Volume 65, Issue 2, May 2026.
ABSTRACT A morphology‐based MP analysis is undertaken to test the monophyly of the lined flat bark beetle genus Metaxyphloeus Thomas, 1984, as well as to hypothesize its intra‐ and intergeneric evolutionary relationships. Based on the results of the present work, Metaxyphloeus, as currently composed, is hypothesized as a monophyletic assemblage of ...

Endoscopically assessed mucus parameters in equine asthma: Relationship to clinical history and cytological findings data

open access: yesEquine Veterinary Journal, Volume 58, Issue 3, Page 767-778, May 2026.
Abstract Background Mucus parameters are hallmark diagnostic features of equine asthma (EA). Objectives To investigate the relationship between mucus quantity score and mucus viscosity score with signalment, history, clinical findings and cytological parameters. Study Design Retrospective cross‐sectional study.

Combined Effects of Land‐Use‐ and Climate‐Driven Stressors on Stream Fungi and Organic Matter Decomposition

open access: yesFreshwater Biology, Volume 71, Issue 5, May 2026.
ABSTRACT Freshwater microbial communities sustain ecosystem functions and services, with aquatic fungi playing a key role in organic matter decomposition and nutrient transfer. However, the combined effects of multiple stressors on stream fungal biodiversity and functioning remain poorly understood.

Global Analysis of Predicted G Protein-Coupled Receptor Genes in the Filamentous Fungus, Neurospora crassa. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs) regulate facets of growth, development, and environmental sensing in eukaryotes, including filamentous fungi. The largest predicted GPCR class in these organisms is the Pth11-related, with members similar to a protein ...

Dose‐Dependent Effect of Plant Volatiles on the Oviposition Preference of the Corn Leafhopper Dalbulus maidis

open access: yesJournal of Applied Entomology, Volume 150, Issue 4, Page 497-505, May 2026.
ABSTRACT Maize (Zea mays L.) is a major annual crop cultivated worldwide. In the Americas, the corn leafhopper Dalbulus maidis (DeLong) (Hemiptera: Cicadellidae) is a key pest of this crop, causing direct damage to plants through phloem feeding and indirect damage by transmitting phytopathogens.

Neoscytalidium dimidiatum Associated With Canker Disease in Spondias mombin L. in Brazil

open access: yesJournal of Phytopathology, Volume 174, Issue 3, May/June 2026.
ABSTRACT In 2023, Cajá trees (Spondias mombin) exhibiting symptoms of canker and resinosis were collected from a commercial plantation in Teresina, Piauí, Brazil. Affected plants displayed small, irregular cankers on the trunks and branches, accompanied by abundant resin exudation, which coalesced into extensive necrotic lesions.
