CONJUGATE HEAT TRANSFER COMPUTATIONS VIA LATTICE BOLTZMANN METHOD

open access: yesHavacılık ve Uzay Teknolojileri Dergisi, 2017
We developed a lattice Boltzmann Method code that is able to solve conjugate heat transfer problems on graphical processing unit. The solver uses Cartesian meshes of D2Q9 lattices and solves transient heat equation on both fluid and solid regions at once

Conjugate heat transfer in wedged latticework cooling ducts with ejection flow for turbine blades

open access: yesCase Studies in Thermal Engineering
Trailing edge of high temperature turbine blades faces challenge of severe thermal environment due to wedged profile and hence limited cooling spaces.

Validation of a coupled heat, vapour and liquid moisture transport model for porous materials implemented in CFD [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Moisture-related damage is an important issue when looking at the performance of building envelopes. In order to accurately predict the moisture behaviour of building components, building designers can resort to Heat, Air and Moisture (HAM) models.

Engineered extracellular vesicles enriched with the miR‐214/199a cluster enhance the efficacy of chemotherapy in ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the miR‐214/199a cluster is associated with recurrence in ovarian cancer. Engineered small extracellular vesicles (m214‐sEVs) elevate miR‐214‐3p/miR‐199a‐5p in tumor cells, suppress β‐catenin, TLR4, and YKT6 signaling, reprogram tumor‐derived sEV cargo, reduce chemoresistance and migration, and enhance carboplatin efficacy and survival in ...

IMPDH inhibition enhances cytarabine efficacy in SAMHD1‐expressing leukaemia cells via guanine nucleotide depletion

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cytarabine is a key therapy for acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), but its efficacy is limited by the dNTPase SAMHD1, which hydrolyses its active metabolite. Screening nucleotide biosynthesis inhibitors revealed that IMPDH inhibitors selectively sensitise SAMHD1‐proficient AML cells to cytarabine.

The program FANS-3D (finite analytic numerical simulation 3-dimensional) and its applications [PDF]

open access: yes
In this study, the program named FANS-3D (Finite Analytic Numerical Simulation-3 Dimensional) is presented. FANS-3D was designed to solve problems of incompressible fluid flow and combined modes of heat transfer.

Multiphysics Computational Analysis of a Solid-Core Nuclear Thermal Engine Thrust Chamber [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
The objective of this effort is to develop an efficient and accurate computational heat transfer methodology to predict thermal, fluid, and hydrogen environments for a hypothetical solid-core, nuclear thermal engine - the Small Engine.

E2A selectively regulates TGF‐β–induced apoptosis in KRAS‐mutant non‐small cell lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Ability to induce apoptosis by TGF‐β is frequently lost in advanced lung adenocarcinoma despite intact TGF‐β signaling. We identify E2A as a mutant KRAS–dependent mediator of resistance to TGF‐β–induced apoptosis. TGF‐β induces E2A via SMAD3 in mutant KRAS cells, and E2A silencing restores apoptosis and enhances radiation response in cell lines ...

Conjugate Heat Transfer Analysis in Cryogenic Microchannel Heat Exchanger [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Printed circuit heat exchanger (PCHE) is a highly integrated plate type compact heat exchanger and most important as well as a most critical component in the cryogenic application. Compact heat exchangers are characterized by area density (? = AHT / V) i.

FGFR Like1 drives esophageal cancer progression via EMT, PI3K/Akt, and notch signalling: insights from clinical data and next‐generation sequencing analysis

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Clinical analysis reveals significant dysregulation of FGFRL1 in esophageal cancer (EC) patients. RNAi‐coupled next‐generation sequencing (NGS) and in vitro study reveal FGFRL1‐mediated EC progression via EMT, PI3K/Akt, and Notch pathways. Functional assays confirm its role in tumor growth, migration, and invasion.
