Study on prior information fusion method of low-voltage switchgear

open access: yesAdvances in Mechanical Engineering, 2019
The reliability analysis of low-voltage switchgear is of great importance to the safety of power system. Bayes theory is a widely used reliability evaluation method because it can make full use of historical data.

A comparative study of circulating tumor cell isolation and enumeration technologies in lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Lung cancer cells were spiked into donor blood to evaluate the recovery rates of the following circulating tumor cell (CTC) enrichment technologies: CellMag™, EasySep™, RosetteSep™, Parsortix® PR1, and Parsortix® Prototype systems. Each method's advantages and disadvantages are described.

Real-world experience of patients with multiple myeloma receiving ide-cel after a prior BCMA-targeted therapy

open access: yesBlood Cancer Journal, 2023
Most patients with multiple myeloma experience disease relapse after treatment with a B-cell maturation antigen-targeted therapy (BCMA-TT), and data describing outcomes for patients treated with sequential BCMA-TT are limited.

Cell‐free and extracellular vesicle microRNAs with clinical utility for solid tumors

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cell‐free microRNAs (cfmiRs) are small‐RNA circulating molecules detectable in almost all body biofluids. Innovative technologies have improved the application of cfmiRs to oncology, with a focus on clinical needs for different solid tumors, but with emphasis on diagnosis, prognosis, cancer recurrence, as well as treatment monitoring.

On conjugate families and Jeffreys priors for von Mises–Fisher distributions

open access: yesJournal of Statistical Planning and Inference, 2013
This paper discusses characteristics of standard conjugate priors and their induced posteriors in Bayesian inference for von Mises-Fisher distributions, using either the canonical natural exponential family or the more commonly employed polar coordinate parameterizations.

Cellular liquid biopsy provides unique chances for disease monitoring, preclinical model generation and therapy adjustment in rare salivary gland cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We quantified and cultured circulating tumor cells (CTCs) of 62 patients with various cancer types and generated CTC‐derived tumoroid models from two salivary gland cancer patients. Cellular liquid biopsy‐derived information enabled molecular genetic assessment of systemic disease heterogeneity and functional testing for therapy selection in both ...

Utilizing panels of patient derived xenografts to aid the development of antibody drug conjugates

open access: yesMolecular & Cellular Oncology, 2018
Despite numerous endeavors in clinical trials there are few clinically approved Antibody Drug Conjugate (ADC) therapies. Here we comment on our recent publication demonstrating the power of using panels of patient-derived xenografts (PDX) prior to Phase ...

Circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) trajectories predict survival in trifluridine/tipiracil‐treated metastatic colorectal cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The authors applied joint/mixed models that predict mortality of trifluridine/tipiracil‐treated metastatic colorectal cancer patients based on circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) trajectories. Patients at high risk of death could be spared aggressive therapy with the prospect of a higher quality of life in their remaining lifetime, whereas patients with a ...

Integrative analysis of circulating tumor cells (CTCs) and exosomes from small‐cell lung cancer (SCLC) patients: a comprehensive approach

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study simultaneously investigated circulating tumor cells (CTCs) and exosomes from small‐cell lung cancer (SCLC) patients. The elevated expression of JUNB and CXCR4 in CTCs was a poor prognostic factor for SCLC patients, whereas exosomal overexpression of these biomarkers revealed a high discrimination ability of patients from healthy individuals,

E-Bayesian estimation for the Lomax distribution based on type-II censored data

open access: yesJournal of the Egyptian Mathematical Society, 2014
This paper is concerned with using the E-Bayesian method for computing estimates of the unknown parameter and some survival time parameters e.g. reliability and hazard functions of Lomax distribution based on type-II censored data.
