A Catalytic Osmium Redox Couple Collapses Cancer Redox Balance

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A stable Os(III)/Os(IV) redox couple is developed to disrupt the tumor cell redox balance by concurrently catalyzing ROS generation and GSH depletion. Osmium‐treated cells exhibit multiple cell death pathways, including apoptosis, ferroptosis, and immunogenic cell death.

Nueva generación de Vacunas Conjugadas Antimeningococica: Fundamentos y Posibilidades a escala Mundial

open access: yesVacciMonitor, 2009
The serogroup distribution of Neisseria meningitidis strains implicated in invasive disease varies geographically and temporally. Monovalent serogroup C conjugate vaccines have successfully reduced serogroup C disease in countries where they are used ...

Analytical Characterization of Pneumococcal Vaccine Conjugates Using SEC-MALS Technique

open access: yesMethods and Protocols
Background/Objectives: Infection from Streptococcus pneumoniae can lead to serious complications, such as meningitis and pneumonia, in children under 2 years of age, older adults, and immunocompromised populations. Conjugate vaccines against the pathogen

Quadrivalent meningococcal conjugate vaccines

open access: yesVaccine, 2009
Neisseria meningitidis is an important cause of bacterial meningitis and septicaemia with most disease caused by meningococci bearing serogroups A, B, C, Y and W-135 polysaccharides. Monovalent serogroup C conjugate vaccines have become established in the immunisation programmes in many countries and the first quadrivalent meningococcal vaccine ...

Haemophilus influenzae type b reemergence after combination immunization

open access: yes, 2006
An increase in Haemophilus influenzae type b (Hib) in British children has been linked to the widespread use of a diphtheria/tetanus/acellular pertussis combination vaccine (DTaP-Hib).

A randomised trial evaluating the safety and immunogenicity of the novel single oral dose typhoid vaccine M01ZH09 in healthy Vietnamese children. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
BACKGROUND: The emergence of drug resistant typhoid fever is a major public health problem, especially in Asia. An oral single dose typhoid vaccine would have major advantages.

Mechanism‐Informed Machine Learning Enables Discovery of Oncolytic Peptides for Cancer Immunotherapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
MISPOP integrates ensemble learning with membrane‐active physicochemical priors to identify Dermaseptin‐S9, a natural oncolytic peptide that disrupts tumor membranes, triggers immunogenic cell death, and shows strong antitumor activity. The study illustrates a mechanism‐informed route from peptide sequence data to cancer immunotherapy leads.

A Plug‐and‐Play Platform for Customizing Multivalent Degraders and Degrader‐Drug Conjugates

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Membrane proteins remain challenging targets for conventional TPD approaches. Here, the authors develop UPTAB, a modular platform leveraging ultrahigh‐affinity orthogonal Im/CL protein pairs for lysosomal degradation of membrane proteins. Mono‐targeted (Type‐I), dual‐targeted (Type‐II), and tri‐targeted (Type‐III) UPTABs enable simultaneous degradation

One-month evaluation of safety and immunogenicity of a Vi-DT typhoid conjugate vaccine (Bio-TCV®) in Indonesian subjects 6 months to 45 years: A phase III randomized clinical trial

open access: yesVaccine: X
Background: Typhoid fever typically affects children and young adults and is a considerable cause of morbidity and mortality. Vaccination is the most effective preventive strategy to control typhoid fever in the short to medium term.

A Three Component Synthetic Vaccine Containing a β-Mannan T-Cell Peptide Epitope and a β-Glucan Dendritic Cell Ligand

open access: yesMolecules, 2018
Glycoconjugates prepared from the capsular polysaccharide of several pathogenic bacteria and carrier proteins, such as CRM 197 or tetanus toxoid, have been one of the most successful public health measures to be implemented in the last quarter century. A
