Tuning the electronic, photophysical and charge transfer properties of small D-A molecules based on Thienopyrazine-terthienyls by changing the donor fragment: A DFT study [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Indexación: Scopus.Four acceptor-donor organic conjugated molecules based on thieno[3,4-b]pyrazine-terthienyls were analyzed in order to explore the effect of the donor substituent on their molecular structures, electronic and optical properties. Density

Large‐scale bidirectional arrayed genetic screens identify OXR1 and EMC4 as modifiers of αSynuclein aggregation

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Activation of the mitochondrial protein OXR1 increases pSyn129 αSynuclein aggregation by lowering ATP levels and altering mitochondrial membrane potential, particularly in response to MSA‐derived fibrils. In contrast, ablation of the ER protein EMC4 enhances autophagic flux and lysosomal clearance, broadly reducing α‐synuclein aggregates.

Three-Dimensional Microfabrication With Conjugated Polymers

open access: yesمجلة بغداد للعلوم, 2008
In this paper we reported the microfabrication of three-dimensional structures using two-photon polymerization (2PP) in a mixture of MEH-PPV and an acrylic resin.

Theory of interfacial charge-transfer complex photophysics in $\pi$-conjugated polymer-fullerene blends

open access: yes, 2010
We present a theory of the electronic structure and photophysics of 1:1 blends of derivatives of polyparaphenylenevinylene and fullerenes. Within the same Coulomb-correlated Hamiltonian applied previously to interacting chains of single-component $\pi ...

UiO‐66 metal–organic frameworks in biomedicine: From structural tunability to bioimaging, photodiagnostics, and photodynamic cancer therapy

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
UiO‐66(Zr) metal–organic frameworks are chemically stable, biocompatible, and highly tunable nanomaterials. Their modular structure enables controlled drug delivery, multimodal bioimaging, and light‐activated photodynamic therapy, supporting integrated diagnostic and therapeutic (theranostic) applications in cancer and biomedical research.

Assemblies of conjugated polymers: Intermolecular and intramolecular effects on the photophysical properties of conjugated polymers [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
Conjugated polymers are emerging materials for electronic applications due to the tunability of their properties through variation of their chemical structure.

Density matrix renormalization group study of conjugated polymers with transverse pi-conjugation

open access: yes, 2005
We report accurate numerical studies of excited state orderings in long hypothetical pi-conjugated oligomers in which the hydrogen atoms of trans-polyacetylene are replaced with conjugated sidegroups, within modified Hubbard models.

A Systematic Comparison of Alpha‐Synuclein Seed Amplification Assays for Increasing Reproducibility

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Seed amplification assays (SAAs) enable ultrasensitive detection of misfolded α‐synuclein across biofluids and tissues. Yet, heterogeneity in protocols limits cross‐study comparability and clinical translation. Here, we review α‐synuclein SAA methods and their performance across various biological matrices.

A Self‐Degradable Conjugated Polymer for Photodynamic Therapy with Reliable Postoperative Safety

open access: yesAdvanced Science, 2022
As a noninvasive therapeutic technique, photodynamic therapy (PDT) has attracted numerous research interests for cancer therapy. Nevertheless, the residual photosensitizers (PSs) still produce reactive oxygen species (ROS) and damage normal cells under ...

Poly(thiophenes) derivatized with linear and macrocyclic polyethers: from cation detection to molecular actuation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
The association of linear or macrocyclic polyethers with the electronic properties of the π-conjugated polythiophene backbone leads to functional conducting polymers that exhibit metal cation dependent electronic properties.
