An isoform of 14‐3‐3 protein regulates transbilayer lipid movement at the plasma membrane

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Loss of 14‐3‐3ζ in CHO cells confers resistance to exogenous phosphatidylserine (PS) and impairs endocytosis‐independent inward flip‐flop of fluorescent PS at the plasma membrane. RNAi‐mediated knockdown reproduces this defect, while no additive effect is seen in ATP11C‐deficient cells.

Auxin-induced Conjugation Systems in Peas [PDF]

open access: yesPlant Physiology, 1972
Pretreatment of pea (Pisum sativum var. Alaska) sections with any active auxin induces an enzyme which forms aspartate conjugates of exogenously supplied indoleacetic acid, naphthaleneacetic acid, or benzoic acid. Whereas induction of this system is an absolutely auxin-specific process, another enzyme, which forms benzoylmalic acid, is induced both by ...

The ubiquitin ligase RNF115 is required for the clearance of damaged lysosomes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Upon lysosomal rupture, an E3 ubiquitin ligase RNF115 translocates from the cytosol to the damaged lysosomal membrane. Moreover, RNF115 depletion impairs the clearance of damaged lysosomes, identifying it as a key regulator of lysosomal quality control.

Organizing the interface—Plasma membrane architecture and receptor dynamics in virus‐cell interactions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Plasma membranes contain dynamic nanoscale domains that organize lipids and receptors. Because viruses operate at similar scales, this architecture shapes early infection steps, including attachment, receptor engagement, and entry. Using influenza A virus and HIV‐1 as examples, we highlight how receptor nanoclusters, multivalent glycan interactions ...

Boosting Photocatalytic Performance of ZnO Nanowires via Building Heterojunction with Conjugated 2,4,6-Triaminopyrimidine-g-C3N4

open access: yesMolecules
Photocatalysis is one of the most effective ways to solve environmental problems by solving pollutants. This article designed and prepared a conjugated system of 2,4,6-triaminopyrimidine-g-C3N4 (TAP-CN) to modify ZnO NWs.

AAA+ protein unfoldases—the Moirai of the proteome

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
AAA+ unfoldases are essential molecular motors that power protein degradation and disaggregation. This review integrates recent cryo‐electron microscopy (cryo‐EM) structures and single‐molecule biophysical data to reconcile competing models of substrate translocation.

Pd(II)-dissolved in ionic liquids: a recyclable catalytic system for the selective biphasic hydrogenation of dienes to monoenes

open access: yesJournal of the Brazilian Chemical Society, 2000
Palladium acetylacetonate dissolved in 1-n-butyl-3-methylimidazolium tetrafluoroborate ionic liquid catalyses the selective two-phase hydrogenation of conjugated and non-conjugated (functionalized and non-functionalized) dienes into the respective ...

Cholesterol gallstone dissolution in bile. Dissolution kinetics of crystalline cholesterol monohydrate by conjugated chenodeoxycholate-lecithin and conjugated ursodeoxycholate-lecithin mixtures: dissimilar phase equilibria and dissolution mechanisms

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 1983
Using compressed discs and microcrystals of cholesterol monohydrate, we evaluated the mechanisms and kinetics of dissolution in conjugated bile salt-lecithin solutions.
